so QG, since u dont follow the religious aspects of christianity, but u stick to the more central ideals, in addition to believing in jesus as your lord and savior, what else do u have to do as a christian? what other service does that faith require of ur time here on earth?

in other words, what is the purpose of a christian? after the declaration of being a christian, are u required to do anything else?

this evening at work, i was walking, looking at the setting sun behind some of the clouds. i was thinking about how the sun is made up countless numbers of hydrogen atoms reacting. there are so many atoms that the reactions go on for billions of years. nearly at eye level, it just looked like a big ball in the distance, and in fact that is just what it is, a big ball of gas, far, far away. how simple, yet how amazing.

when those who dont believe in a supreme creator ask ' who created the creator?' i think about how would they explain how all these things come about, and why would they come about. if nothing created u, and when u die, u done, why should u work then? why should u have morals and values? what exactly are morals and values. if u just happened to come about, as u are the result of a long chain of random events which are so improbable that it near impossible, how do u explain feelings and emotions? how can a chemical reaction evolve into a feeling of hate or distrust?i may accept the feeling of hunger, but what about laughter and confusion?

the universe is too complex to be a mere interaction of physical properties. islam repeatedly teaches that things are set in their courses and given tasks. it recognizes or at least allows for concepts of gravity, centripetal acceleration, but asserts that the source of the laws, the initiator is the one god, the supreme creator, the one who created that which we know and that which we know not of, the best of planners, the most wise. things may seem purposeless and by the way, but is it not curious that the size of the sun, the size of the moon, their relative distances to earth are just right to cause eclipses? it may be by chance, but out of all the moons which have been discovered, does any perform that? the only moon that we have just happens to do that. in court, this may be considered circumstantial evidence if so much, but to me... surely there are signs for those who believe

things like that, i really dont see how jesus fits in. the creator created stuff and spook was waitin on people to be created to penetrate them, otherwise he jus chillin. son was just waiting on the day that his fadda step child follow ah bad oman and commit a horrendous sin only so he could take a human body to dead and come back later. it was supposed to be three days and nights like jonah in the fish, but it was shortened to two nights and a day due to the fact that friday evening to sunday morning cannot be three days and three nights, but then again, that was the son of mankind, not jonah. wait, son of man? i tawt he was the only begotten son? well, god is the boss, the dude, he da man... so, son of man. ?

sMASH, that's your point of view, I will not argue with your point of view, no matter how you try to justify your belief towards Jesus.
Many others like yourself, don't see where Jesus fits in to it...and no one can force you or them to be christians. That's understandable!
Just like the Quran, the Bible teaches us about Science...Day and Night...etc etc.

Once you are declared a Christian, yes you are required to do /anything else/ (other things), just like any other faith. If someone converts to Islam or Hinduism, does that stop there??
Answer is NO.
So I don't quite catch what you are asking.

actually, once someone reverts to islam, that's where it starts. it means that person thought about some stuff and deliberated others and came to a conclusion. islam teaches that the point of a human is to praise and obey the creator. praising him not in the manner we wish to do, but in the manner he decrees. we believe he set some laws to follow, as well as guidelines. we are supposed to obey, as following those laws is obedience, which is also a form of worship. how can we say we love god when we do not do what he commands. our purpose is to live god fearing lives, the reward is heaven, if he deems that we did it to the best of our abilities. reverting to islam is not the end all of salvation, it means that we were enlightened to a message, and considered it to be real. now that we know that, we are even more responsible and even more accountable for our actions,,, because we cannot use the excuse that we did not know, as we know have to guidelines to live by.

islam says u were born a muslim having the basic beliefs, meaning that u believe in a greater power and have the instinctual knowledge of right from wrong. then as u grow older u are exposed to influences and my decide to follow those. if u realize that u were doing wrong, and make a decission to stop, god may assist u. if u try to repent, he may forgive u as well. he assists according to his plan. forgives according to ur sincerity, which u and him alone know. ur reward/ punishment is usually not here in this life time. our lives here is a proving grounds for us to know how we have earned what we get in the next life... what did we do with what we were given. a wealthy person here is not more blessed than others, more like the opposite as he has more resources to do good, and so has greater responsibility. every person is accountable for his actions and will reap accordingly. no person can take or give to another.

as we are inspired by the story in the garden of eden when both adam and his spouse ate of the forbidden fruit, they were equally punished as they were equally disobedient. islam specifically states it was shaitan and not another creature of god which provided the opportunity to disobey. and islam teaches that it was no great sin, it was a mere act of disobedience, of which they both were repentant and both were forgiven. islam teaches that the forbidden fruit had no real significance, but was merely an opportunity for them to follow commands. they were given the opportunity of choice. they had free will from before, but this was the time they had to exercise it and realize ability to choose for our selves instead of being mindless drones. the concepts of right and wrong have been actualized and we demonstrate our differentiation from the other creatures, we demonstrate our likeness to god in that we can know right from wrong and also choose which path. angels can know but not choose, animals can choose but do not know.

christianity teaches that u were born a sinner, and no matter what u do someone else has to redeem. as u utter a simple phrase ur place in heaven is secured, no matter what u did before nor after.

disclaimer:
what i type is based on my understanding. u may choose to clarify my misconceptions at ur discretion.

LOL, but just to highlight on your second to last paragraph, in the Christian faith; yes you can be secured a place in heaven, but you can lose it if you Stray lol.
In other words, we can spiritually die.

also QG and sMASH - what do you both consider to be spirituality?

Oops, I sort of misunderstood what he said in that paragraph...thanks for bringing that to my attention.

Spirituality to me, is when someone devotes their life to their Superior God, trying to live a clean and holy life that is pleasing to their God. It is also a relationship amongst yourself and God.

sMASH, seeing that I now fully understand that paragraph you posted, what you're saying is that in Islam, no matter what someone do before or after, their place in Heaven is secured?
Does it have anything to do with God's Promise to man?
If a muslim person lost his faith and decides to do evil, is his place still secured in Heaven?

does god encourage spam?

Hello Sir,
I wish here to discuss God's purpose for the earth. Some people believe that God would destroy our earth. Is that what the Scriptures teach? No. Rather, the Scriptures clearly teach that earth is man's everlasting home. For instance, the Scriptures show that our earth is going to last forever according to Ecclesiastes 1:4. God's purpose for the earth is that it be inhabited with righteous people. Isaiah 45:18; Psalms 37:11, 29. So the time is coming when this earth will be transformed into a Paradise. The wicked will be destroyed. Psalms 37:9, 10. 2 Thessalonians 1:6 - 9.
This is not surprising. When God made Adam and Eve, he placed them in a beautiful garden home, the Garden of Eden. Genesis 2:8. He told them to have children and take care of the earth. Genesis 1:28; 2:15. This was God's assignment for Adam and Eve. Their children would eventually spread Paradise all over the globe.
It was NEVER God's purpose that people should die as some people think. Death was to be the punishment for disobedience. Genesis 2:16, 17. If Adam and Eve had not eaten from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, they would not have died; rather, they would still have been living today on earth. God has given the earth for humans to live on. Psalms 115:16.
Sadly, sin and death were introduced after Adam and Eve sinned, bringing suffering to mankind. Happily though, Jesus Christ has given his life as a ransom for mankind so that we can regain what Adam lost for his offspring, that is, everlasting life in Paradise on earth. Yes. This is what God purposed in the beginning and it will be accomplished at God's appointed time. His purpose can NEVER fail. Isaiah 55:11. Satan, by misleading Adam and Eve only interrupted God's purpose for a time, but he can and will NEVER stop God's purpose from taking place.
From the foregoing, we can see that earth will become a Paradise in the future. Righteous humans will live forever upon the earth with no sickness, old age or death. Revelation 21:3, 4. This is what the Bible REALLY teaches.

Of course, some from among God's people are chosen to rule with Christ in a heavenly Kingdom or Government.(Daniel 7:13,14,27; John 14:2, 3; Isaiah 9:6, 7) These ones are a "little flock".(Luke 12:32) They will rule with Christ for a thousand years. (Revelation 20:6) Christ and the "little flock" will rule over those righteous ones who will be living on earth.(Psalms 37:29; Matthew 5:5) Countless blessings will flow to those on earth. (Psalms 145:16)

Knowing these facts based on the Scriptures should move us to want to find out what God's Will is for us and seek to do it in the way that GOD requires, rather than just doing what WE think is right. (Ecclesiastes 12:13; Matthew 7:21; 1 John 2:17) For more information contact:

The fact is guys, that Religion is man made...its not a matter of which one you belong to, they all have the same underlying principles (a supreme being[GOD] creator of the seen and unseen, one who we cannot see but we believe and have faith) For Christians, Jesus is not God...he is the son of God... so why then do we worship him? Cuz the Bible says :

"No One Comes to the Father Except Through Me"

just like Prophets are to Allah...

Like Lords to Gods in Hiduism

I am a christian...I believe in God and Jesus...he didnt put me here to have a lavish life and do me favors, but to do exactly this...Testify...

Read John 1:1-14...I'll even quote it for u....It says...In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God...

It goes on to say...The Word was made flesh and dwelt amongst us...

This Word is Christ. He was with God in the beginning (Read Genesis 1:26) when God said, Let US make man in OUR own image and likeness...

God is tri-existent meaning he is personified as God being the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Son of God came to earth in the flesh as Jesus Christ manifested in human form so that his creation, that is Man, could relate to the Love God has for him.

So as you rightly said...John 14:6 says that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life...no one comes to the Father except through me...

But to conclude...Jesus wasn't just merely a prophet...he was God in the Flesh.

There's a major flaw in your 'circular reasoning' in relation to the Bible, i.e. it is true because it is the Word of GOD (yes) but written and documented by those who experienced the Word and Spiritual Teachings first hand, therein lies the independent confirmation.

Creationists take this in Faith.

So using that trend of thought makes no sense, sorry.....you're welcome to try again.

While the bible was documented by those who experienced the word and spiritual teachings....those same documents are not what we read today as our bible....

The true texts were kept by the vatican and they edited it to suite their needs...and provided us with a bible. They also left out many of the texts to avoid controvercy..Hence the bible is biased!

While that may be a POSSIBILITY I don't believe anybody is in a position to state conclusively whether that is true or not (unless that person has first hand knowledge). While there are numerous documentaries and theories in relation thereto it is one subject to debate and scrutiny as it relates to the 'lost scriptures'.

The belief that the Bible is biased is one of personal choice based on ones interpretation, using ones experiences, common sense and logic.
