This heat is definitely going to ramp up storm activity in the Atlantic this year.
Sea surface temperatures are high.

SSTs been consistently high for a while, but now with El Nino starting, that shearing isn't going to be a factor to help "slow" the development.
Guess our only saving grace is the very dust we loathe.

T&TEC sees ‘highest ever’ use of electricity due to hot spells
https://www.guardian.co.tt/news/ttec-sees-highest-ever-use-of-electricity-due-to-hot-spells-6.2.2003765.797d893116
In a statement yesterday, the commission said it had recorded “continuous increases” in electricity demand over the past two weeks, as previous peaks were exceeded on five occasions.
While T&TEC said it has more than enough installed capacity (2037MW) to meet the surge in demand for electricity, the increased demand has resulted in increased natural gas usage.

It's because people abuse the privilege of cheap electricity we have. Everyone AC set to 17 degrees and none can realistically reach that temp so they run right through. Some even leave the AC on at their workplace so place cold when they reach next day. Government have to keep stepping in and telling us what to do like little children.maj. tom wrote:No wonder my UPS was going crazy last night again.T&TEC sees ‘highest ever’ use of electricity due to hot spells
