Not gonna bother reading back to see if it was suggested. Egg Crate Grille??? Easy to cut to size, light passes thru easily and if you place some rocks ontop it'll keep your jumping fish in the tank.

I'm looking for hammer, frogspawn, candycane, cool zoas, brain, favia anything similar really. just really colorful and easy to take care of.

Well the better word for corals would be animals instead of plants. Yep you would need a chiller.

There are many different ways in setting up a SW tank. First decide what you want. Coral or fish only.
Fish only set ups don't usually require a chiller but corals do. Unless if kept in a 24/7 air conditioned room. Most corals with symbiotic "zoo" algae (zooanthellae) require colder water than tropical room temperature. If these temperatures are not provided, the corals expel their zooanthellae and die.
The vids that you see would be of tanks in temperate countries where chillers aren't needed unless they have high intensity lighting such as metal halide.
A chiller is not 100% necessary but it is certainly recommended.

Thanks man. I am using 2x250w MH ARO HQI ballasts with Phoenix bulbs. Supplimented with. a mix of 4 different 54W T5HO bulbs. Moonlights are varied intensity according to the current mooncycle by my controller. Not sure if the moonlights affects anything but it is cool to see.

I get coral from Santoo and Raj.

orrr, that's how you can keep a clam on your sand bed. that's a lot of light, you probably get a lot of growth, even from sps and the moonlights on a cycle are really cool.

Raj and Santoo don't have anything much now, they said probably next month.

Yeah I get good growth from the sps. The key besides light is to maintain the cal and alk levels. I also run a ULNS to bring out the colors.

I'm actually thinking of trying to dose amino's to push the color some more.
