if you eh realize the V8 club is just like the anyjapaneseengineinanoldcar club
they stick in the "fastest" engine they can find in the oldest car and proclaim its a winner
nothing is done to add appeal

Hold it right there fella,Many of us don't post pics of our cars or even show them publicly so don't judge TNT cars by the few that YOU have seen.In my circles the cars can hold their own anywhere and furthermore what you see in magazines and tv programs are the exception not the rule that's why they are in magazines and if you were in town long enough you would have realized that its the same guys that are featured over and over .They sell their cars and do another or that's what they do for a living .Name me one company inn TNT where you can take your car leave it and come back sometime after and collect it totally restored or modified .You cant even get parts for the damned things. We do everything for ourselves in house for our cars and even so it can sometimes be prohibitively expensive ..Why don't you post pics of your car and let us comment about it

1. Cause the Cobra replica was brought in from the US of A

2. DiY ers in t he US have access to an abundance of parts and expertise especially in the machine shop department. We still depending on the man with hammer.

3. No.. there arnt much well kept offerings..our engines and cars come from bush no. 2

4. Domestic parts in the US are extremely cheap, we have 2 face unscrupolous business men here who when the done with us we often end up walking sideways.

5.Plus men like mg who have $$$ and knowledge resources keep the information for the obscure Euro car comunity here...rather than fully support the V8 ters....

Yes, I agree that MG's language is somewhat crass - but he is describing most crass behaviour...

Nigie, you might be shocked by MG's response, but let me hear what you would say if:
You are nursing a slipping clutch homeward... You deliberately wait for traffic to lessen in order to not be a nuisance...
You find yourself behind an elderly fellow driving an even more elderly Bedford... you could swear that if he drove any slower he would be going backwards...
You wait until the highway is completely clear of ANY vehicle before you bring your revs up to overtaking mode...
You draw alongside Pops, checking your rearview mirror constantly, making sure no vehicles are approaching... As you are about to pull ahead of Pops, some asinine fool comes screaming out of the distance behind you, moving so quickly that by the time he sees you, it is too late for him to slow down quickly...

Will you then describe this driver as a "rather unaware and unthinking chap"? I think not.
Personally, I find MG was most restrained in his choice of words.

A public road is for the public to use freely, in a safe matter so as to not endanger other users.

In the hypothetical situation you described i would have some choice words ,but I would not utter them if my mother or kids were there,Likewise this forum is not for disrespecting others ,that comment was uncalled for ,that's why there is a language filter .I expect that sort of thing from a schoolboy not a grown man.Discretion is the better part of valor

NOMOSS might be an old hand when it comes to bending spanners, but all things being relative, he is new to Tuner.
In time he will realize that MG's crass response is actually worded in the only language that those sort of characters understand. MG, like many of us, has tired of trying to explain in more genteel and informative ways, the error and danger of driving like an anal sphincter in the throes of an alternative form of copulation.
And so, he has to rely on a more ignorant form of talk in order to talk to the more ignorant of form.

The youngster is probably one of those very drivers that I have to be wary of and dodge every time I go home to Toco, as they drive at full speed - especially around corners in the wrong lane. Talking to this ilk does nothing but exercise one's jaw and waste one's time, as they consider themselves "drivers" with "experience"... though the only experience they have is in holding onto the steering-wheel while fortunately nothing unfortunate happens. (When something does happen, it is normally discussed in threads labelled "RIP...")
Confidence and unawareness of consequence are a horrible mix that result in a remarkable sort of deafness and even more remarkable sort of carnage.

Firstly, it doesn't matter who or how many do it - that doesn't change the fact that it is a foolish and inconsiderate thing to do.
Secondly, don't assume MG falls prey to chain-up or exercising his ego on public roads - he is quite the distinguished gentleman on the road (I suspect he drives complete with monocle, top-hat and scarf  )

Trinituner has a culture all it's own, crass and informative at the same time... a place where hostility can mask what is actually a lime. Admittedly, the picong can be rough sometimes, and the under-age posers and grand-standers can make the air stink with their chest-thumping... but that's life on the pavement.
Welcome to the sand-box... just don't complain about the sand getting into your britches.

So why do we all go for the big cams and carbs ,to hear the cars Idle and go from zero to eighty k's in an instant !Just because one guy does it and boasts of it and when we do, we keep quiet ,that gives us the right to condemn them. Its the principle of the whole thing I am taking issue with. How many times have we stepped down on our accelerators an made our thrushes scream ,frightening the little old ladies and freaking them out or passing so fast that our tailwind shakes their car over the white line ,leaving them nervous for hours on end and because we don't boast about it on trini tuner like some people that gives us the right to condemn them .Its a case of pot calling kettle black.I used to do it in my younger years ,and looking back i was very lucky not to have become a spot on a lamppost, ditch or wall somewhere and as I got older some would say that I may have gotten wiser but that is horse crap .I have lost my nerve and it scares the hell out of me now ,I still take a "chook " every now and then but I not fooling myself, my reflexes and reaction time has slowed down enough for me to notice and its not as easy when I was in my twenties .But the politically correct say thats it's maturity ,age brings reason .So we have the right to condemn those who are doing what we used to do but no longer can.Furthermore who set the example for them to follow ,WE DID ,THEY ARE OUR CREATION , they evolved, they have taken it to the next level and it more dangerous an we vex now .Step up and admit that WE WERE diots for inspiring a generation of asinine drivers by driving in an asinine manner ourselves when we were young and running our cars with free flowing exhaust and burning rubber at every opportunity. They saw us ,they idolized us ,now we reap what we have sown and it we have to eat it and it bitter and the sand from the sandbox choking us , and now we don't like our little F'in a'holes.Yes they are ours, our children.

I just have a problem with people pointing fingers at others when they are guilty of the same thing.Tell me the name of one person in tnt who learned to race their car(or drive at high speed) on a racetrack exclusively.I say all of us learned to race on the road illegally and we all pissed some people off at some time.I'm not condoning it,so don't get me wrong here.Just point fingers at yourself first and keep the language clean.

heh heh heh heh, that's a lot of motor. find out about a larger shoe horn for that guy.Yeh the Lexus V8 is the new engine of choice for swappers in the us ,because of it's efficency to pass the sniffer laws, especially in California. Guys have been putting this unit in every thing from '32' hi boy's to early '80's' musclecars. I believe Millen Company started the trend .
