thanks fellas I appreciate your comments

skidz I like your idea with the wider tyres....will consider it

However, my plan was to just change the 2 front this month end and the two back the following month end. So would it be dangerous driving on tyres of varying front and back widths?

I need to change tyres soon. The stock size is 195/65/14

One shop I called didn't have that size, they had 195/60/14 I think.

My question is, what is a safe range of tyre sizes I can use on my car? it's an NZE corolla..

On a NZE those would fit nice. Just this week I bought a pair of Nankang 205/60/14. Bought them in Aranguez. Nice broad tyres that hold the road better than 195/60.

See what you can find in Maxxis MA-Z1... That is probably the only sporty tyre that is in your pricerange that you can find relatively easily..

I'm sure there may be some other options available but the amount of hunting required can't be worth it..

$500 for the Nankang bruh. The guy said the next set will be at $550 though. They have Fullway for $475, Roadstone for $550 and Michelin for $600, all in 195-205/60/14. Roadtech Tyre Service/Center, Aranguez main Road.

I would definitely spend $100 more for Michelin over Nankang if that was the choice.. Not sure which model michelin it would be, but odds are its a vastly superior tyre..

No, nothing wrong with mixing brands, but ideally if the Michelin was really $600 you would want it on all 4 wheels..

Please post which model michelin it is if you get chance..
Thanks

Qucikservice buy 3 get 1 free usually still works out to almost twice the price of other places.. Call and see for yourself.. Last quotes I got on some 15s from there were about $1200 each or something obscene like that for Michelin..

Their prices are higher than other local shops can get the tires for you, but lower than if you try to import yourself with buying online.
Only time to buy from them is if you can't get a certain tire elsewhere, and then you should at least wait on one of their sales.
