Sometimes this can be as simple as a relay that is blown assuming it was aftermarket part?

I'll ask if they updated any software from that August 2015 service. The installer removed the immobilizer from the key fob and stuck it into the slot where the key fob enters. I thought this was the problem and I had him uninstall the remote start when the car started giving problems. But a few days later it started giving me the same problems again (no A/C, no indicator lights, and no infotainment system).
BTW, warranty was expired when I got the remote start installed as Best Auto only offered 2 years warranty.

The no A/C & infotainment sounds like a blown fuse and based on the electrical draw of these systems, it's most likely a big fuse (30A and up)
With the no indicator issue, check to see if the hazard lights are disconnected.
I'm no auto guru but I've had those exact problems in my rover and that was the remedy.

I would not buy after reading of overheating problems.
Seems they still sell reject cars in trini.
We know ford have shut down problems which was use due to bad diesel, but it was not Ford at fault this time.

Hilux - raj, expensive, over rated, underpowered, spacious, rugged, good resale value, ok dealer support
np300 - ghetto, another version of a wetman, diff problems, small inside, okay in resale, the wrx sti of pickups, too low, ok dealer support, coil spring rear suspension is a failure
Sportero - ugly design, the rally bred pickup, not so hot resale, excellent dealer support
Bt-50/ranger - transmission and engine issues, spacious, 3.2 is awesome, manly, dealer support sucks, not so hot resale value, heavy t only
Dmax - poor design, poor engineering, poor dealer support, poor resale value, one of the cheaper pickups. You pay for what you get.
Colorado - very powerful, features like wow, ok dealer support, poor resale
Amarok - the luxury pickup, poor dealer support, over-priced, poor expected resale value, poor expected quality, a dirty lying cheating manufacturer
Actyon sports - Google this one because most don't know it exist.
Wingle - last in every possible category. don't bother selling it. If it still works and you looking to move on, just donate it as a charitable act
Scorpio pikup - made in India by mahindra. This is mentioned because people will ask what is a Scorpio pikup. Strong....at least 30+ years behind in technology and design, poor resale no sheit, ok dealer, not sure if dealer still imports them. Total failure.

OFC its Ford's fault ... they supposed to know the quality diesel not sell their pick ups if the rangers can't handle it.

Spoke to ford sales rep who last said they have since then modified the sensor for bad trini diesel .

On a diff note, what are some views or experiences on the chevy Captiva?

acesinghit wrote:the 2015 and 2016 Captiva's have a restyled exhaust pipe finishers, rear LED tail-lights, a double-DIN touch screen deck with Bluetooth and reverse camera, smart key with push button start and newer styled 18" rims. These are not bad vehicles at all, I just wish we got the V6 option with a sunroof as can be seen in other markets. As for resale value and long-term reliability, your guess is as good as mine. I know of one personally that was involved in a major accident and the driver literally walked out of it without injury! Based on the GM Theta platform which shares platform engineering with the Suzuki Grand Vitara. For those heading to the US/Canada, check out the Chevy Equinox which IMO is much nicer.

Always saw myself buying a civic as my first car. Didn't work out as Ansa views Honda as a "luxury" brand and is ridiculously priced, also the manufacturer seems to have lost their mojo over the last few years and has stalled on innovation.
But if you want reliability and something that's classier than an toyota I recommend it, also if you can stomach the "luxury" price tag.
