Best transmission specialist in TT

Postby ek4ever » January 6th, 2019, 9:29 am

Decided to do a poll to find the best transmission specialist in Trinidad. Looking to get reviews of your personal experience with any of the options. Of course please make suggestions for other places not listed if you had work done there.

Thanks

Flash is the only man who has done work for me and others based on recommendations and all jobs turned out well. Jai aka Sailor is the other I know who does great work that I know about personally.

Thanks, thinking of going with him. Most of the others have a negative review here and there....never heard anything negative about Flash.

I did my dad's tranny by keith charles in south.
I must say, good service.
Place clean, multiple lifts, washing/cleaning room, rebuild room.
1 year warranty with a 6months free service.

Anybody have reviews on Glasses Specialist in Longdenville Chaguanas?

Went by Keith Charles (Charles Automatic Transmission Ltd) on Papourie Road, Duncan Village. I understand that he does a good job for the most part... but the price...

Had a vehicle done by Glasses, I would not recommend, price started as advertised then escalated in the end, should have brought a a used one instead, late on estimated finished time, saw my running board broken and hanging when I went to make checks.

Both Jai and Flash does.

When I had my B14 Sentra with the Nitrous shot, I bought a valve body kit which stiffened up the shifts and fixed some inherent SR transmission issues. It was a reprogram kit by Transgo. Flash installed plus did his experienced modifications.

There is a shift kit and a reprogram kit.
Think of the shift kit as a stage 1 fix and reprogram as a stage 2.

Make your decision based on feedback and your builder's recommendation.

Glasses over price and have problems talking to customer Chaguanas auto too overprice and problems with clarity. Kamal from d carlsen field or enterprise / longdenville area have shoddy work and Nafeez from charlieville sketchy plus attitude problem. Over the years this is what i think off them. I wont recommend them to anyone. Jus my opinion.

DO NOT GO TO CHAG AUTO SUPPLIES. Lied to me. Said 1 year warranty, and after paying 15k for a full rebuild transmission, they said 3months warranty on cvt when collecting my vehicle. I left there with a whining transmission and reverse engaging with a loud bang. My Transmission never whined before until i left my vehicle there. I had to beg them to repair it. After which they kept my vehicle for months while nothing was done with it. It worked great for the 3 months after and started back whining again. The whining turned into a loud humming sound. Then a few days after the transmission neutral light began blinking and then days after it stopped working completely. I believe they either put a foreign used transmission in my vehicle or they just fixed the very minimum in on old transmission they had and swapped it with my previous transmission. Their workers also use your air conditioner while your vehicle is in their place. As if they pay for the fuel in it. Very evil persons. See Google maps of Chaguanas auto supplies for more reviews. Worst garage ever.
