what about other cryptocurrencies? I see Ether making a climb right now too, piggy backing off BitCoin success .

The virtual currency economy holds more than 500 options besides bitcoin and more are coming on stream everyday providing a range of different services. Some projects succeed, others fail and fall off the market. ETH captured market attention on having their targets set on running apps on a blockchain. Providing enhanced security for running apps over the internet.

IMO it's not completely in league with the mission of cryptocurrency original philosophy. It's highly centralized and corporate controlled/funded. Whereas the bitcoin community is really about decentralization, community and philanthropy/charity. I take profit from the market since theyre throwing around so much big money but im not 'into it'. If u know what i mean ;)

Bitcoin was rising for the past couple weeks and was $1100 up to a few days ago. The thing is i wasnt pleased by it rising. As it seems many werent. Im glad to see some retracing. But we might never see $200 bitcoin again. Its getting expensive. I think we could see a new ath of 2000usd per bitcoin in 2017.

gone back to highs in matter of days $2800+

was prob one of the best speculative chances to make some quick gains
will likely go up again for a bit with the scaling changes then taper back

$1900 to $2700 in a few days after support for scaling upgrade
speculators might take real high by the end of the month when the upgrade takes place

After testing out digital currencies earlier this month, independent stock research analyst Ronnie Moas on Sunday published the first two parts of his 122-page report on bitcoin and other digital currencies.

"In my view, the genie is out of the bottle, and cryptocurrencies will continue to rise and take market share away from stocks, other precious metals, bonds and currencies," Moas, founder of Standpoint Research, said in the report.

"I think investors should take a shot on this and hold for a few years. If you lose a few bucks, at least you took a shot," he said. "In life, you miss every shot that you do not take. It will probably be more upsetting to watch it (from the sidelines) go up another 1,000%."

wonder if bitcoin made any trini millionaires

and what would be the scene taxwise if you were to sell your bitcoins for USD that you then had wired to Trinidad?

Where do I purchase bitcoins? The few online places I tried would not let me buy much less sell, as it detects Trinidad.

you have to buy BTC and then go to and exchange and trade it for other currencies, buying other currencies using a CC real hard. They will resume selling after the fork settle down

One could technically ask somebody else to buy for them and let that person transfer the bitcoin to a paper wallet
I.e. Piece of paper
You can then scan this into a phone wallet or something

$3950 all time high yet again
usual statistic, $100 bought in 2010 would be worth $131m now

I can't even begin to figure out how I would use that kind of money locally in a normal non72 lifestyle
