WTK: motorhomes and RVs

Postby liquidmetal » July 22nd, 2016, 5:33 am

Does anyone know whether a motorhome or RV camper can be brought into the country and licensed legally? Been looking at this as a possible alternative to traditional living accommodations.

Interested in knowing the procedure to bring one in and how much it would cost in total to buy/bring in/have options like these as examples:

Would be easier to bring in a camper trailer and just pull it around with a pickup / car. At least that way you could get one from the US and don't have to pay MVT etc.

Yes was thinking about that... was looking at something along the lines of:

$8900 USD used

OR like

$12500 new

would like to know what the cost would be like to bring this in

You should check with License office for details of this plan.

There may be some requirements to issue a number plate for it and then also the unit to move this around eg: if the requirement is a truck tractor unit or a pickup van.

A trailer needs to be licensed and insured separately from the vehicle pulling it and the vehicle must be insured to pull said trailer
