Converting a Toyota 4X2 into 4X4

Postby jackal » April 14th, 2015, 4:56 pm

Looking at the market today, you cannot get a reasonable price Toyota 4X4.

Have any one converted a 4X2 into a 4X4?
Looking at the models from SR5 and before.

What are the main challenges?

I looked at doing it once with the model hilux before this one. 4x2 and IMO the cost of the conversion was way to high if doing the conversion as the 4x4 version of the same model. However doing the conversion with parts from an older model say, leaf spring, and things could work out pretty well... Be weary that alot of things will have to be considered if doing it properly.

It would be seeing the certified copy has 4x4 or 4x2 on it
