DRIFT MOTION #2

Postby Tsuchiya » October 22nd, 2013, 9:18 pm

Greetings all, the Trinidad & Tobago Drift Association together with Autosport is proud to bring to you all Drift Motion 2 this Sunday 27th October, 2013 at ARC.

Image

Once again, we'll following Autosport format, which is registration on Wednesday 23rd October at Mosport Bar @ 7pm. ($100 Driver entry fee, $300 per tent)
On Sunday, drivers are kindly asked to arrive before 10 am for scrutineering, then onto a brief meeting before the action begins. Remember the 1st half of the day will be dedicated to training and practice for all drifters. There will be 3 course levels and the drift instructors will be available to all for tips and training throughout the day.
The second half of the event will see competitors tackle the course for their place in the qualifying ladder and then head to head tandem drift action in order to earn the top spot.

Gates open to the public from 9 am. Spectators are only $20 with kids under 12 FREE

We look forward to sharing a great event; may the day be full of incredible car control, may the air be tainted with vaporized rubber, and may all our hearts be etched with the joy of drifting

What's the prizes with this event?
Not sure if any sponsors sponsored any as I didn't see it mentioned.

Good Question and we apologize for not quoting that very important information.

Prizes will be as per our last event, held 1st September 2013

1st Prize $3000.00
2nd Prize $2000.00
3rd Prize $1000.00

winners for that event were

1st place - Roger Hutcheon
2nd Place - Reagan Birbal
3rd Place - Kerry Philip

Action from the first and second place battle can be seen in our flyer.

This is for those who are few in number that would try to bring the hard work of the organizers in disrepute over their adolescent and immature behavior as observed in the last event.

As my good friend describes. Please misbehave we have something in place and also some may have a close up of the beautifully painted Hi - Way Patrol cars, being sported now....Mug Shots upon request !!! Who is willing to start the EXAMPLE.

The Trinidad and Tobago Drift Association would like to thank all Drivers, Sponsors and Spectators in attendance for making the day a successful one. Drivers were able to come out and take to the various courses through out the day and later push the limits during the competition :D 8-) . 22 Drivers in total took part in practice and training.

The competition itself proved to be a keen one and eagerly contested by all. Following single run attacks of the course by the 12 competitors this was reduced to the best 4 to move in to the Tandem finals.

At the end of the battles after the smoke cleared and gave way; the main results yielded.........

1st Place - Devon Bartholomew

2nd Place - Reagan Birbal

3rd place - Brandon Steele

Following competition the crowd was treated to free style drifts of the course by all drivers with the day coming to a beautiful and incident free close at 5:30pm.

Again we thank all involved for their continued support with out which none would be possible

Sponsors - Total, Meguiars, Monster energy drink, Kaizen Trading as main event contributors

The Autosport Team, State of the Art Automotive with out whom very important logistics and controls for the day would not be in place, much thanks and gratitude as always.

Available Pictures and videos are encouraged to be posted on TriniTuner.com in this topic and the Trinidad and Tobago Drift Association facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/groups/trinida ... sociation/ - our album to come later.

All around congratulations bestowed to TTDA, Ian and his dedicated team on a perfect day of sideways action that had the crowd riveted and competitors down to the last rubber foot print they could find.

If you you were in attendance you will never miss another one, as many stated that they did not know T&T had so much talent, especially in the tandem style action where cars were mere inches away from each other in mirror fashion without trading paint.

Congrats to Devon, with his newly installed fridge with breeze power plant, Reagan and Brandon of course did not disappointment. Press on with this discipline T&T is watching and loving it.

skills like dat!

Its good to see the guys from the different drift clubs/assoc coming together to put drifting on the map.

One thing though....from what I've seen or haven't seen, THE SMOKE NAH: the lack thereof might be as a result of----->

1) either the guys arent using the right compound of tire 2) the surface isn't clean enough or hard enough 3) the course is too short with not enough long sweeping turns 4) the angle of drift combined with the slow entry speeds 5) the cars are underpowered/not enough torque.

Can only imagine how much MORE the crowd will support when they see real tire smoke and not a l'il fumes.
