nano and mini amps

Postby nervewrecker » December 29th, 2012, 12:38 am

Alright, so looks like nano and mirco amps are officially on stream. The choice is not between the Rockford and Soundigital anymore.

What is a micro / nano amp:

Must be approx 6" in length,
Accepts 8awg B+ and gnd,
No set price as price varies a lot based on brand.

Soundigital Nano technology first look by SMD

X_factor, isnt the RF a bit different from the rest too?

I know there are RF, JL, Massive audio, Lightning audio, Kicker, Arc Audio, Soundstream, Soundigital etc.

Matts have some small amps as well as DD.

Who else got what?

I am using the Arc. 2 804s and a 2000.1. The 804s have similar output to the Jl xD`s I had before. The 2k I cant really comment on too much because I don`t have the electrical system to really back it up. I took a pic of one of the 804s next to a can of coke as a size reference:

check out the polk audio, precision power phantom, nvx, hertz hdp amps, all have same internal board as arc audio and soundstream (tarantula nano not picasso nano), all similar specs and size. I think the hertz hdp has the most rms output.

just my 2cents

I've used =

audiopipe
massive audio
rockford
jl

all very good to say the least, all cea rated, and all give rated power

I like the rockford brt lines, excessively small

I would like to use the arc's soon, but price is a bit out of the league for most day to day consumers
