Cause really.. what's the advantage of the apple docking port over microusb?

i.e. you don't see "Samsung-ready" deck on your Lexus or BMW. There are lots of stuff out there that work with your iPhone/iPod/iPad and can be controlled both ways.

Samsung and other droids use bluetooth to stream music.. No need to plug in and jack in everything

Yea streaming 1080p m4v over bluetooth. How's that working out for you and battery life? If the connecter wasn't a big deal, the big car manufacturers would not be boasting "iPod-ready" decks as a feature. Those decks can also sync your time, contacts, EQ settings etc while charging your phone. You know it's not only car decks - home electronics, sports & fitness, commercial planes, high-tech guns used by special forces etc.

And it does all this WITHOUT DRIVERS.

iPhones/iPods/iPads talk DIRECTLY to true "i-ready" devices hardware because of the extra pins that USB lack. On the standard side of the cable (e.g. into your PC), the USB pins are rearranged dynamically for data in both directions AND power to charge at the same time, thanks to the switch on the 30-pin side of the cord.

excuse me but both my pioneer decks the single din and double din sync the time and contacts. And as for charging thats why man invented the car charger.

Even when not charging a trip from town to Arouca after work in 4pm traffic use 3% battery life while using bluetooth for music.

Stream movies? There's Allshare and if no Allshare device is available then I can connect a micro USB to hdmi cable and watch the video like that.

The Apple charger goes beyond just your music. It allows the iPad to access hardware directly without the need for software drivers. It allowed Apple to dominate the MP3 player market because it goes way beyond simple syncing.

MicroUSB has to play my USB rules (data in, data out, power/charge, ground). The Apple connecter can use all wires for data WHILE sending power through the same wire. Or dynamically switch all to ground for power spikes.

You need to understand this concept of the 30-pin and 19-pin contacts and how the hardware utilise them to get USB to do more than it was designed for.

see my post on the previous page, apple WILL be introducing the micro usb as stated in the EU bill mandating that all mobile devices use one standard plug.. and Apple will be able to make to file transfer/syncing and charging all at the same time, just like everyone else does

I think this might be the cable. But i took a bottle of salt with all the rumors that flying by.
That was the initial word re: micro usb connector and i was hoping for it too but I doubt it.

I read they are offering an adapter into microUSB.
That allows Apple to continue to use USB how they want while other chargers will be compatible.

If anyone is worried about their accessories becoming antiquated you shouldn't. Apple will (logically speaking) release a 30pin to the 'new' style adapter.
