If 2011 is anything to go by Apple should be announcing the iPhone keynote on Wednesday, if the September 12th announcement day is to be believed. The pre-orders should start the following Friday at 3:01am local time & the release on the 21st at 7:00am.

1 Million Apple Device IDs Leaked, 12 Million Total Stolen

One million Apple UDIDs (Universal Device IDs) were released to the public today, along with Notification Center tokens, device names, and device IDs, and while none of the data is personal information, it can potentially be tied back to device owners, names, and addresses.
According to Antisec, the group that released the data, the one million is just part of over 12 million UDIDs they obtained from an FBI-owned laptop compromised in March 2012. The total dump reportedly also contains names, addresses, cellphone numbers, and other information about the device owners.

Unfortunately, if you own an Apple device, there's nothing you can really do at this point. You can't just change your UDID the way you can change a password. There are sites that let you search the 1 million dump to see if your UDID is in the list, but the safest and most surefire method is to download the nearly 90MB text file yourself from the links provided at Pastebin and check for your UDID with a simple Ctrl+F (Cmd+F on Mac). Also, even if your device isn't in the list, it could be in the other 11 million.

To find your phone's UDID:

Plug your device into your computer.
Launch iTunes and select your device in the sidebar.
Where you see your device's name, capacity, software version, and serial number, click on the serial number. This will toggle the display of your device's UDID.
It's unclear what if anything Apple (or the FBI for that matter) will say or do about the leak, or what a malicious party could do with the information, but for now it's a good reminder to keep your computers secure and malware free.

iOS6 already looks the same after so many years. if the new iphone ends up looking like a 4S with a bigger screen, would u be excited? or would u really start to get bored of the same design?

dont get me wrong, the current design is nice and if it ain't broke, y fix it right? but honestly hoping for something different...

Nissan Computer was registered in USA when Nissan was still known as Datsun.

An to make it worse Nissan is a Jewish name. They took a Jew to court for the right to the use of his name.

sort of boring in a way but I welcome the bigger screen etc. it's not exactly the same though the back is different. There aren't much choice in buying a phone with iOS on it.

But then again being a fanboy I get excited for anything apple related

Yo fellas, the camera flash on my 4S remaining on & not coming off. it flickering lil bit dimmer but never completely coming off. using the camera in photo & video mode it's working fine but even with the phone switched off, the light remaining on... any fixes for this?

I have the feeling it's condensation though since the phone was in the lifeproof case & i saw some condensation on the inside of the screen.

Well it looks like the 'announcement of the announcement' day was one day earlier than what it sorta was in 2011. I kinda had a feeling it would have been since Apple likes Tuesdays for events like this, but I thought that would also bring it up to the 11th rather than the 12th, but it is what it is.

Surprised that iPhone 5 may end up being the name after all. I thought it was a sure thing to be just iPhone.

I thought about the nano SIM situation with bmobile & since they are an official carrier of the iPhone it should be a matter of time that they get the nano SIM to sell for the iPhone (5/2012). Well at least thats what I hope. It should be closer to when they are expected to get the phone to sell. Can't remember how long after the initial launch of the 4S last year that they got it but whatever it was, expect it one month earlier this time around.

The clone manufacturer who released an iPhone 5 knock-off last week now says that they will sue Apple if they release the real iPhone 5 in China. Surreal? Hilarious? Pathetic? All of the above.

Hong Kong-based GooPhone, who designed their cheapo Android phone after the alleged Apple iPhone 5 parts leaked during the last few months, has a very rational argument: they have released their clone first, so everything that comes after that must be a copy, even if they actually made their phone after the parts of a phone that hasn't been released yet but that everyone believes is the real thing.

In other words: since their clone was released first, that makes it the original phone. The iPhone 5 is the actual clone, not theirs.

Makes sense? Of course it doesn't. Who cares! It's fun!

I just hope Samsung is taking notes and hurries up to release an iPhone 5 clone as soon as possible. Come on, Samsung—you got one week! You can totally do this.
