There was a drive a few years ago to have inspection stations revamped and meet higher standards as established by the Canadians that were invited to revamp the system.

Don't know how far this got but some station owners spent good money to upgrade.

That fine is ridiculous, in the US it's around $120TT for driving with expired inspection - if you are ever caught! I've known people that drove around for years expired. Right now I'm three months out of date but in October 2010 I had just put the new motor in my car that had been out of service since Feb 2007. I was driving it around putting break-in miles on the new engine when I got pulled over because the exhaust was loud (straight pipe and header). The officer was cool and understood, didn't issue a ticket, just told me to get it inspected soon.

Tobago focused on to also address the stolen vehicle situation.

We all speak about lack of enforcement as the biggest problem we have, do your part with this simple requirement.

Typical last minute ignorance on many peoples' part:

it was crazy to look at for the entire week it happened: Cars lined up all along the road almost to the point people residing in the area couldn't even get home... cars even had trouble just pulling into the station.

Cops had to put no parking signs along the road to stop people and still then the drive was full of cars all from 11pm/ midnight on some occasions...

many people in this country never want to do something when they should: they wait till the deadline and when they can't get through cause ALMOST EVERYBODY ELSE dotish like them, they complain and get angry about the system.

5 year by reg dan plate NUMBA so anything PCA and older go get yuh sheet inspektid!!!

pickups have to go license office annually and the fine is $2000..
you need to go to the inspection office in License office, pay and get an appointment, you must have your certified copy, I went to get an appointment and because i am still waiting on my new certified copy (only have the old one with previous owners company name on it) I have to go back when i have the new one.. I hope the ignoramus license officer understands this and don't dish out a ticket on me... cause i will fight this one in court..

going again to get an appointment next week when i get the new certified copy.. grrr...

if it's a car (not a van) and once it is NOT done at license office... but who knows yes, they way things go at license office, i wouldnt doubt someone else say they done it with a van there.. that place is real bobol..
