WTK Replacing CR-V nav to double DIN

Postby Morpheus » September 24th, 2011, 1:37 am

Hi basically is for my Mom's CR-V. It's an RD1 model. The deck in the lower compartment (where the cassette player was) like it conk out.

So instead of replacing or repairing it, I want to replace the nav console and buy a double DIN console and install a double DIN deck.

Has this now. Nav/Radio/Controls not working of course

Want to do this

Has anyone done this? Are the consoles interchangable? I'm thinking they would be. Also how hard are they to get?

Thanks

^^Thanks man but a dash kit wont work unfortunately. The nav system is in a smaller opening.

I only saw your reply when I came home from work last night (Mon night).

I know some came with the navigation system and some came with a double DIN opening which housed a single DIN pocket and a single DIN stereo I think it is

EDIT: Got a pic. like this

So basically I'm looking for a console like that to swap in nah

a dash kit will replace the entire console to give you the look that you want.
its not just a pocket and finisher.

get the dash kit man wit replaces everything even the a/c controls so you retain that stock look while being able to house your double din unit the install is very simple.Dask kits just slap on no glue or cutting to fit it is designed for your vehicle so just get the correct one.If no one has it locally ebay has them at a reasonable price.

Oh ok. I though when you mentioned dash kit (SR), that you meant just double DIN hardware, not the entire console with the controls.

I will PM DEAUDIO then. And thanks Firewall and viking1705 for the input.
