i for one have instituted measures in my business to ensure that doesnt happen.
Last time i had an occurence like that was over 18months ago.

what measures have u implemented?

lets say it gets damaged during shipping or sumn ... very hypothetical question here

reason i ask is cus i like to be different i would look for an amp not many ppl have here n will turn to sourcing from abroad.

proper testing is done before we accept the amplifier
and if it works well, its well packaged for shipping,
when it comes here, if the seal is broken, will open to check for to see if everything is intact from shipping, if seal is not broken, wont break it, because chances are minute it would have suffered damage wrt how we package it.
- had a memphis 4k that took 1 broken leg from a fet during shipping, and when it was powered up, whole thing went up in smoke -
then test it out again when it gets here, prolly even run it in the car for a few days

1x2000@4ohm bridged
0.01% THD
120dB S/N ratio
>96dB seperation
0.15-12V sensitivity
>500 dampiing
7Hz-200kHz response

-All transistors are operated in high bias Class "A" mode
-Remote Status Display (basically a half DIN mount to put at the driver dispaly area with 6 LED's for monitoring any problems)
-True Balanced Input Section (balanced connections with an included balanced line driver)
-Four internal fans
-Power Saver (when no input signal is found it turns down the high current supply rail voltages to reduce energy consumption)
-Direct-Coupled Audio Path (gain stages are direct-coupled for higher signal integrity and extended low-end response)
-Precision Servo Control (four servo amplifiers per channel maintain precise DC operating points without performance limiting coupling capacitors)
-QuadDrive Output Stage (Quadruple-Darlington output stage, output and damping are constant throughout the entire bandwidth)

tristan20 had two

tristans thought on them from diyma

They are HUGE as in JBL 6000 huge, made extremely solid, so solid that if you were in an accident the car would be all smashed up but the amp would still survive.

I sold mines to a dude that absolutely loves them, he has 5-6 already. My friend has a shop in queens and he has one in his display case but I dont think hes selling.

At IDLE around 40 amps, so make sure you got the juice or the amp will eat itself.

what a failure imo.. that high level of inefficiency makes that amp just not worth it. and no wonder it is so heavy, imagine trying to dissipate over 40A continuous! what the hell was its designers thinking when they built that!? i wonder why no one really knows about it..

some capacitors however have built-in discharge resistors to dissipate stored energy to a safe level within a few seconds after power is removed in order to serve as a precaution for potential damage or anything like that

 serious! *runs off to discharge all disconnected amplifiers!*

I got a Pioneer Premier Class A in my room for a while now.. Had it in the Civic prior. So I know about their 'audiophileness' and their ability to waste tons of power! Never selling that amp though

^^^Class A refers to an output stage with bias current greater than it's maximum output current...its output transistors always conduct current....they are cleaner and generate less distortion than A/B amps cuz they are the most linear...

Class A amps really clean noytoyz....they cost alot though which kinda makes them scarce locally cuz ppl rather try to use class A/B amps down here most effectively to cut costs of buying a pure class A

most mids amps u see ppl using are A/B as they use less power, costs less, operates cooler, etc....
