steering problem

i have a steering problem where when turning the steering it does not turn normal in the sense that while turning there is a stop and go effect like when turning it gets hard then soft and when going around corners the locks stays and does not turn back whats the problem ?? thanks

sounds like something's wrong with the power steering... maybe pump?

there's a universal joint or 'cross' on the steering shaft. there may be more than one depending on the vehicle make/model. when these wear badly enough, they get tight, thereby inhibiting free rotation of the steering-shaft. i believe this is more than likely your problem.

change your steering fluid, check your pumps and racks

its a b15 i check the belt .and its good all the ends racks didn't check the cross though will do that by the mech thanks for the points !

firstly how did the problem come about? was some kinda work done to the ps system?, or u jus started noticing it?, or did it come about gradually?







some ps systems require bleeding, similar to bleeding brakes, could be some air in the system, or most likely the ps pump going bad......
