Very Nice...it's always great to know that they still have tuners in Trinidad who take pride in their work like that. Any shots of the engine bay?

Is it a Vectra you have and does it carry a ECOTEC 2.0 X20XE lump?

yes it is a vectra i have, but no it does not have the x20xev, my only has the z16xe, however i do want to do an engine swap to a x20xev, or any other recent 2.0 16v engines from opel. u have any ideas by chance or what. my goal is to make my car powerful, or a lil peppy i should say

Thing is alright to tell you to get a calibra turbo or a VXR lump but you are in Trinidad and to obtain one of these then ship and pay duties will be a bit costly to you. This is why the fellas home doing it the 'easy' way and converting to Jap motors which does not make your car European off course. All things being equal, and without being too technical the way I would do this is do a study on how many chaps converted a Z16XE, or X16X to forced induction around the world to get a feel as to how the internals stand up amongst other things. You may find though that not many chaps have done this as they may have access to a more powerful motor. These engines are good if you want to make a little more power by reving them with the coressponding adjustments done to spark and fuel. If the internals of the motor can take a 20-40% increase in output. I would go ahead and fabricate an exhaust manifold and a optional intake manifold. Calculate the correct injectors needed for the increase in power then build or buy run a Megasquirt 2 ECU which run off you crank trigger and fire your coil pack. The cam sensor will become redundant. You will also have to calibate it live or on a dyno. Thing is will it be worth it? And for the same effort a man with a 4AGZE or SR series in the same chasiss will still be able to reliabley blow your doors off!
Thats a difficult one but I guess its a question of to EURO or to RICE!
For me in the UK I will never even consider this. But it is a different for ol' trini where anything fits anywhere an does wok!

yeah i know it would be alot cheaper to put in a jap engine, but i dont want to go so, i want a powerful euro car, yes i know it will be expensive, money which i dont have, i was also thinking off the same calibra engine, or vxr engine, a guy down here brought down a x20xev for 6k TT, which is not bad, cause a sr20 would cost 8k+plus, so if he can locate a calibra turbo engine or vrx, and is not goin to coost me a forture, i would gladly take it, see i really want to be different and now follow the easy way with a jap engine, i know the jap engine are more powerful for a cheaper price, but i jsut cant stand the though of a jap engine in my vectra, lol. so i guess i have to see what engines this guys could find, and work with that from there, the ecu brand u mentioned, can anyone tune them or, do u have to be trained? cause the prices for ecu's down here is outrageous.

interesting...japs engines are very good and good platform for building which i have seen in this forum..but once u have a euro i always say stick with it, either u go small boast or do an engine swap(euro engine)and get the real gains u really want..BRT, for 6k thats excellent, but do check to make sure u getting everything ecu etc...what would be good if you could get a second hand engine here in t&t and do your upgrades rather than importing...thats the pain us euro guys have to faced at times...the importing part..i have bought parts for my pug from the UK and sometimes it can be a bit heavy at times...keep us inform of your project should u decide to go ahead..

trust me i've been looking for an engine down here, but the only one i found was a 3.0 v6 from an omega, but that engine is to big to fit in my engine bay. so that is why i would have to resort to shipping down an engine. i hope to get one soon.

The X30XE Omega engine will fit your vectra but you got to have a 2.5 fwd gearbox all other things being equal. Also If you can get a 2.0 lump down there then I would say go for as it will make the car much more nippy. Make sure you get the all the looms and matching ecu with keys and immobiliser. Vectras with the bigger engines have bigger brakes and stiffer suspensions as well.
The ecu I mentioned to you is a DIY ECU called Megasqiurt. I built mine as well as calibrated it to use on my VW Golf in the Avatar. The engine for my car never came with a turbo and like you I wanted to be a bit different and not follow the crowd who swaps in the MK4/S3/TT 1.8T lump or VR6. So I rebuilt my motor to turbo spec and then built the controller to run the fuel and spark. I fortunate to have a few contacts and this process saved me from having to runs clocks ecu keys and transponder from another car thus keeping my installation very OEM and the car is the ultimate sleeper. Thing is with all this I live here and getting things i.e. anything is NOT a problem. You can mail order and even buy stuff from the states over the phone. But I know just what you are talking about about keeping it Euro. If you interested about getting that motor and you cannot find one in trini send me a PM and I will locate one.
