So I ask again...what % of these killings are random....and not 'business'.

Random in this case equates to Home invasion,horn,spur of the moment fight and other non transactional activities

Very low ,I would think. I was talking to my close friend who is a deputy commissioner / crime, and he admitted that separating to murder records would allay the fears that we have.

imagine as people get older and suicide rates go up from depression. Actual depression ain't a nice thing makes you feel like you are going mad and the scary reality is you are until eventually you kill yourself. People often forget how fragile the mind can be when exposed to this kind of sh!t from such an early age. And not even just kids, look at lead singer from Linkin Park he killed himself as a grown man after his best friend killed himself, proving depression from lost loved ones affects adults even with a near perfect childhood. So just imagine for a child and the developing brain? what are the consequences for society later on?

The youth man last year who got arrested last year and is in prison now the same one who chop out his girlfriend head when she said she was going to leave him, funny thing about that his father drank poison infront him when he was a kid. He looked pretty normal for many years later, no one would ever suspect that. Clearly she leaving him and him having no parents left just shattered what was a very fragile mind waiting to crash any minute.

Then every tom dick and harry say he mad jed it have so much woman out here why he eh go and find a next one instead of killing the gyul, little do they understand how serious depression is and what it does to the sane functioning brain over a long period of time.

I hear you , but there is really nothing they can do to prevent a man from killing another one , the solving and arresting and punishment is where they are sorely lacking, but that comes after the fact. If you subtract the business , gang, woman, revenge murders ,which is where they don’t come after innocent citizens , I suspect the figure is less alarming.

Very much so Spann,and even better than many countries with much lower murder rates,but fulla sociopaths,psychopaths and all kinda killers of innocent people,from serial killing of kids,the aged and infimed,blonde,brunette,black,prostitutes,on the job murders,random mass killings ,killings for greed etc.

But having said that we have to acknowledge we have a pest problem..but yeah the average Trini walking on the right side no more likely to get killed than most....save for robbery gone bad ,a rare crossfire incident etc..which all others suffer from also.

That’s how I see it. I go up St Barbs Trou Maqaque, Pelican anytime I want . People don’t run out in the road and shoot people, but yes , you could be in the wrong place at the wrong time , but that goes for nearly anywhere in the world.

Doubles vendor killed in Marabella

The criminals waited until late, until a doubles vending couple had sold most of their food, before walking in to take their money.

They shot and killed the husband, Daniel Sooklal who had only just arrived in a vehicle. It is uncertain if the killers got any money.

The killing happened shortly before midnight at the intersection of the Stadium Link Road and the Guaracara/Tabaquite Road where the doubles vendors had sold for years.

The stall, located on the compound of Union Plaza, is one of the most popular in the area, and the vendors are well known.

Sooklal, the father of two operated several stalls, and had been in the business since a child when he sold with his mother.

Sooklal, who lived in Gasparillo, moved on to open his own business as an adult.
