need to know type of engine oil to use

my gf has a 2007 kia sportage gas.the vehicle gets a lot of long distant use every day. was using shell 5w40 from the company but they said that they not getting that grade anymore.also checked some parts place and no one has it.can anyone recommend a good brand and grade that i can use ,thanks

From the owner's manual, below is the recommend engine oil:

Engine oil (drain and refill) 4.6 l (4.86 US qt.) API Service SM, ILSAC GF-4 or above.

It is highly unlikely that 5W40 meets ILSAC GF-4.
I suggest using a 10W30 oil.

the company said 5w40 was recommended and now they switch to 20w50 because shell not making 5w40 anymore

OMG... that jus scary.
Lies, by the way.. Shell makes everything you need.

by the way, 20W50 definitely does not meet ILSAC GF-4
