It’s here again, the 4th Annual Total Trailblazers National All Terrain Event.
The Total Trailblazers National All Terrain Event has been growing from strength to strength since its inception in 2010, earning itself a rightful spot on the National Motorsport Calendar. It is the only event of its kind in Trinidad & Tobago that is open to the public and caters to the everyday SUV Driver and the Avid Offroader.
The year’s Event takes the form of 4 Stages, two of them being Special Stages:
Stage 1: Treasure Hunt. Competitors are taken through Central Trinidad, via a Ball and Arrow map where they experience the thrill of All Terrain Driving. Along the way, competitors are required to collect "Treasures" that form part of the points allocated to the stage.
Stage 2, Special Stage 1: Total King of the Hill. Here Competitors are split into two categories, Stock Vehicles & Modified Vehicles. The Stock Vehicles make their way around a short dexterity course and up a slippery slope. The Modified Vehicles are sent along a longer dexterity course as they push their vehicles to the limit in an attempt to conquer the Gruelling Hill and be crowned the Total King of the Hill.
This year sees the introduction of an electronic timing system and scoreboard courtesy Autosport. This system allows competitors and spectators alike to quickly see the times posted on each run. For the first time also, this year’s Total King of The Hill will be open to all competitors from all clubs, including Trailblazers 4x4 Offroaders.
Stage 3, Special Stage 2: Total Mud Hog. Once back at Caroni, competitors are sent splashing through a mud pit then through a short dexterity course. Stock Vehicles enjoy an easier course, whilst Modified Vehicles are submerged in muddy waters, sometimes all the way up to their bonnets. Upon exit of the mud pit, Modified Vehicles must pass the Monster on the Rocks obstacle and make their way through the dexterity course to the finish line.

Stage 4: Toyota Mud Sprint. The newest edition to this event sees competitors line up side by side in an "All Out, Run What Yuh Brung" mud sprint. This arm drop style sprint is full of sideways mudslinging action, with the fastest time taking home the trophy and the bragging rights.
As can be seen, this year, we have changed the format of the event and have separated the Navigational Treasure Hunt and Toyota Mud Sprint from the 2 Special Stages, Total King of The Hill and Total Mud Hog. Each of the 4 stages has its own cash prizes with the 2 Special Stages having separate cash prizes for Stock and Modified Competitors. This change in format allows for competitors in the Stock Category to share in the winnings.
We have also introduced some Special Prizes and Fun Stages to the event this year including:
• Monster on the rocks (Judged as the crowd pleaser)
• One Tough Mudda (Toughest Female Competitor)
• Best Dressed All Female Team
• The Pig (Dirtiest Vehicle)
• 2 Foot Drive Sprint (Human Mud Sprint)
Introducing the Total Dakar ChallengeThis year’s Grand Prize winner will receive an all expenses paid trip to witness the Dakar Rally in Argentina 2014! The Grand Prize Winner will be determined by the lowest combined elapsed time at the Total King of the Hill and Total Mud Hog Special Stages. This Challenge is open to competitors in the Modified Category only, and will also be open to all clubs and their members including the Trailblazers Organization.
