Good day everyone. Can anyone tell me how durable and reliable are these engines with the gearbox. Also any common problems. Thanks

I have the 4D56 turbo installed in my vehicle with transmission.
Regular maintenance to date no issue.
Also always keep Speed under 80 mph (engine design is for 82 mph continuous max speed)

Which generation of the 4d56 you refer to? Or is this across the board for all generations?

My vehicle is the V44 model Pajero, Engine was changed with a Foreign used in 1999 since then no problem.
Original engine when bought in 1998 was smoking and Crankshaft pulley was damaged- change of engine was the safest option.

Ah ok. I was asking about the speed thing you mentioned but I know now which generation of 4d56 you speak of.

Guys,
did a check today average cost of a 4D56 Turbo engine is ~TT$15,500.

Yup. It's the non turbo that's the money, around 18k

Bro the price I quoted was with Turbo.
Did not check price of non - turbo.
Expect prices to increase later this year to to increase Container movement costs.
