Has the high temperature light on your P/up transmission ever come on going up Parimin on 4X4 high?

Condition ......

Parimin approach from saddle road maraval, middle of the day, ac on & 4X4 high engaged.

Toyota Hilux 3.0.

when last was the fluid changed? could be degradation

If it was dry. you may have been binding the transfer case resulting in higher temps.
4wd is needed there only if it's slippery.

Training classes should be made mandatory before purchasing a 4x4

We also had another Hilux, Revo from Toyota Trinidad, he had no issues.

Took it back to Toyota, they seem to be hedging to the fact that we need to do a 100% oil change and not the 4 quart that they do @the 40000 km. That will be done at the 50K service at the end of September.

Things to take away from this thread, do a 100% transmission oil change if you do the type and frequency of road trips that I do. For the 4X4 people, might need to upgrade the cooler. Will look at doing that after the vehicle comes off warranty.

And don't wait for the recommended 40K change, do a 30K/ yearly change instead.

I missed out on this when Batson was teaching it, I end up sending all my teammates to this.

Them boys had a blast with that training.
