Good Day Tuners,
I have a 2007 L200 Sportero of which i'm experiencing a long tumble when i'm starting the vehicle. When i start the vehicle especially in the morning it sometimes tumbles for 5-10 seconds before starting. It's due for a tune up and the mileage is very high (approx. 250k). I am not sure if those attributes have any contribution to this "tough" start but any info or advice on this topic would be most appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

check your glow plugs first. Try heating a couple of times before u start. Make sure they are good and system is working (heating like they should). Meaning that they are not remaining on all the time so that they burn out and dont work at all. Had this problem with a B2500.

My neighbor had the same problem , don't quote me on it but I believe he said there was a glow plug rail fuse close to the battery that was blown and caused the problem

When you turn the key to the start position. You will see the heater light come on on the dash, wait till it shuts off ,then you will hear a click. This is when you will turn the key , it should start easily. The heater only comes on if it needs to. So allot of the time you won't see it coming on during the day when the engine is hot.

can also be the glow plug sensor

if the sensor is bad the plugs may not even be switched on to pre heat

Have this problem time to time with a ranger, a bottle of amsoil cetane boost stops this problem instantly.
