hilux d4d 2.5 low power,

Postby triniboy101 » November 2nd, 2015, 10:13 pm

Hey guys
Had my hilux from brand new from toyota never experienced this problem before. Recently my van has little power to pull off. Under load or climbing hills it loses power n rpms drop to 1500. It will not cross 100 kmph on highway. When i first experienced this i immediately ran tank to almost empty, refilled at unipet, put amzz oil injector cleaner and changed all filters. Problem still there. Went to mechanic who did scan, no codes thrown, he flushed injectors problem still there. The van idles smoothly and is not smoking. Im supposed to take it to sookhais next week to have injectors cleaned n tips checked... anyone experiencing similar problems?

This happened to me, company did an injector service and removed tank and washed out.
They gave me a sample of the fuel, was murky like seawater, even after i had run it empty and refilled.
I no longer buy at the popular cocorite station.
Company uses wynns injector cleaner.

Use amsoil instead of amzz oil lol. Kidding. The 2.5 isnt a powerhouse. Whats your mileage? Injectors issues? Maybe not. I replaced my injector tips for the first time at 400,000kms in the 2.5. Maybe its just you looking for power thats not there. One mod u can look at is dropping in a 1kz turbo

Hey bro there is a sensor on the air box on top. There's is 2 screws take it out an get an air flow cleaner and clean it out or before u do that unjack it and take it for a drive and see if your problem goes away.

Any ideas what could be causing the problem in the 2.5 if there is no MAF? My only hope now seems to be Sookhai's for injector testing n servicing / replacing.
