Good Day Tuner,

I got an issue with my deisel engine. QD32.

Of lately when i start the van, the engine idles very vigorous and rough....not like the normal vibrations of a deisel engine.
The front of the vehice.....bumper, fog lights, grill shakes alot.

I checked the engine mounts.....in perfect condition, none damaged.
Checked the hoses connections....all tight.
Checked the diesel primer pump, its seems to be ok, priming properly.
Compression in both sump pan & head is excellent, when i remove the dip stick & cover....no back pressure.
Engine doesnt smoke when idling. on 4th and 5th i get some black diesel exhaust which is common.

So i'm at a stump!!!!

Anyone can shed some light? Anything else i can check?

Thanks alot.

Check your diesel, drain your fuel filter and check it. If there is a high water content in the diesel it may be the cause. Recently had the same problem and when I drained my tank, was mostly filled with diesel with an extremely high water content.

At time engine mounts get hard and lose ability to absorb vibration efficiently. You must know if it a rough idle due to malfunctioning engine

Hmmm....thats good advice. I guess the only way to really check that is to replace them. Wonder if the ployutherene will be better?

Just my two cents

I had a similar problem. Hilux vibrating wildly on start up. Changed fuel filter and put in an amsoil diesel treatment and vibration went away

An update to my problem....i changed out the fuel filter and i buy a fuel medic deisel treatment....and believe it..... i got a huge improvement....
But i still want to drain the fuel tank just to clean it out also

This engine don't carry balance shaft?
I would check if it does.
