WTK: Cross drilled rotors - Hilux

Postby swordsman » July 15th, 2014, 1:22 pm

Bought my hilux last year from firm...from inception, started having issues with rotors.. they machined them...problems has no popped back up... They are going to change the rotors for me under warranty....BUT i have zero faith in them since i know at least 3 other hilux owners who have this issue... even after rotor replacement

Does anyone know where i can get cross drilled rotors for the hilux??? Aftermarket...

Was this problem resolved?
My parents holy has the same problem, but not when braking, driving between 100 to 120km, the steering vibrates. Shakes the whole van.

Did everything, they machined the rotors, carried it for speed balancing multiple times. I'm fed up... last resort is for tttl to change the rotors.

Experienced a vibration before but it was because of rims that were not properly centered (wrong when nuts and a spacer as well)
A friend also experienced a vibration but his was due to a not so round tyre (cheap tyre). In his case he had the Tyre balanced twice but the vibration was still there
Hope this helps

Not sure if its the tyres, but it came from the firm with the problem, just my parents neglected it.

Lets say for a moment that the spare tyre is good. .. How easy would it be to to run the spare on each corner in the front up to the speed where the vibration occurs and see if that has made a difference.
Yeah it's a bit of a stretch and if you can get Toyota to do it better. ... If it does nothing for the vibration at least you would have eliminated wheels and Tyres as the source of the vibration

All the best
