Vehicle: Ranger 2008 4*4

I am getting a terrible sway on my ranger at around 80-100Kmph( this only started a few months now)
Before and after the over haul, same problem exist.

Recently, I did an entire overall in the front suspension. Change pitman arm, idler arm, inner/outer ends, shocks, ball joints, cradle bushings and stabilizer bar rubbers. Also change tires on stock rims.

Aligned and speed balanced and sway still there. The steering isn't shaking just the van drifting. This is under No load with 2passengers and driver.

Has anyone experienced this? What else can I check?

check your back spring bushings

Go by Mileage Mack and have them inspect / align the van.. they are great at finding problems.

X2 @ leaf spring bushings. They are probably shot and likely what's causing the exact issue you described.

Went by Mileage Mack and still after alignment and speed balance same problem persist. I looked at the bushing and its looking like it still has life.I will look into changing them.

Any more Suggestions?

What tire pressures are u running?? I have a hilux and ive noticed that different brand tires their sidewalls are softer than others... that somtimes causes swaying if i run pressures lower than 35psi id get that sway i usually use 38psi give it a try.... my 2c

I run 32psi cold and 35psi warm. Tires are Firestone. I tried adjusting tire pressures already still did not do any justice. I'm looking at changing the rear bushing cause I am also hearing a squeaking noise at back when i turn corners.

Just to totaly rule it out i would have gone extreme and tried 40 cold for a short drive to ensure wasnt that.... but shackle bushings are usual suspects

Guys running 35 & 40 psi on a pick-up seem a bit high and risky for wet-road traction, most cars are designed to float on 28-32psi and they are lower gravity-centered, check your manufacturer recommendation and be safe. Many accidents occur when folks substitute larger tyres with less side-wall flex and further reduce traction by over-pressuring. My perhaps apply more to bling-car guys but just saying be careful.

Op, are you getin any "play" with your steering box? recently overhauled my entire front suspension courtesy of droppa from side B ! been having the same problem, figured out it was wheel movement from too much play in my steering box!

when i changed out,the steering box was slack. i tighten it up a bit. As for the sway its bad rear bushings for me. if you changed bushings, id recommend spraying them with wd40. this helped my sway.

faiz in marabella or kaimraj and son in debe ..
only problem with both is that they say take out the old part to match up the new one .. seems the van came with diff ones

play in the steering is resolved by adjusting the steering box
