Frontier YD25 Turbo

Postby Esharcangel » February 4th, 2013, 8:49 am

Hey Turners,

I'm having a problem with my YD25 Turbo.

Recently i saw some oil seeping out of the intake and the intercooler.

I took down the intercooler and piping system to check if oil is coming up through the air filter, but no oil there. I then used some degreaser and cleaned out the piping, intercooler and engine block where the oil messed up. There i saw a line coming from the engine block to the Turbo Charger unit.

The only conclusion i could come up with is the turbo charger is leaking oil and sending it up the piping into the intercooler, thereby causing it to leak oil. The oil seems to be passing through the intercooler and getting all the way to the EGR unit.

Has anyone had this problem before and can offer any advice or somewhere they went to get a solution to the problem.

Thanks alot.

lots of yd25 turbos have backpressuring problems.

try sookhai's to have your turbo checked (once you make sure it's not the seals).
