toyota surf transmission problems

Postby jeft » October 2nd, 2012, 1:27 am

i have a LN130 surf,the transmission goes into a safe mode i think where i can't go more than 20 KPH.
i checked it by the mechanic and he told me that some of the solenoid needed changing ,he changed them.the van worked ok for about two days and then back to the same problem.

can someone direct me on what might be the problem and who can i go by to have it checked out again?

Hmmmm. Has the tranny ever over heated? You changed solenoids and it worked? Try resetting the brain. The is also a whole Austrailian site that may have some info. Just google it.

jeft i had a similar problem with my surf, it could also be the tranny fluid, thats the first and easiest cheapest fix, if u've done dat already and using recommended yota tranny oil, then the next two probable causes can be shift solenoids and maybe ecu......

u can try another ecu and see if that works to eliminate that part......

other than that its the solenoids.....
