Mazda BT50 - Frontal Suspension Noise

Postby V2NR 3.0 » April 25th, 2011, 10:25 am

In recent times ive heard a loud "crekking" noise coming from the front of the van. Anytime your stop, or the van dips forward, the noise is heard. Other than that it drives normally and there is no change in ride quality.

Its a descriptive noise like if the vehicle is in dire need of underwashing and greasing up. Ive done that many a time and the noise goes away for a day and then return. Ive tried everything - grease, WD40, Silicone - I mean i know its a commercial van and supposed to be noisy - but the sound is irritating now.

Any one has similar ? - Bushings ? - Mount ?

Gonna have it checked out in one week time but was just trying to figure out in the mean time...

Has anyone cranked your torsion bars? From the description of the sound it seems like an over-tighened torsion problem.

Here is an update - Tried everything and eventually went to Mileage Mack and did a complete suspension check. It was discovered that the main bolt/nuts on the cradle bar was in need of greasing which meant the cradle arm components had to be slackened to get to the said bolt/nuts. These are the bolt/nuts closer to the middle of the van.

This was greased and since then the noise has disappeared ! ! !.

Good information for persons experiencing similar problems

how much did they charge?

Also try lubricating monthly with either chain/oring lube from belray or a PTFE spray.

loud screeching sound from my bt50 like those of worn disk pads when driving the noise stops and starts for itself someone suggested the calipar may want servicing? it is not the pads.

if you play with the truck check and make sure no small rocks found their way between the rotor and caliper. I have had it happen alot is really annoying and hard to find. Also if you get a noise only when turning grease the turn stops rangers and bt50 are bad for that part making noise

Had a ranger beat the hell out of it if it could rattle, sqeak or break I found it.
