^^ not too bad.
Mileage moderate, diesel engines last longer than gasoline engines once they well maintained - the real question is how regularly did the guy maintain his truck - oil/filters/suspension/radiator/battery etc. Esp. considering he has crims on the truck; this translates into more wear and tear than with normal-sized rims. You'd have to take a look at the shocks/alignment first.

Otherwise it's a good deal.

I'd ask for $150K and then haggle from there.

several things to consider

1. Mileage is moderate, but it is due for a big service soon. The 4M41DiD engine is more complex than the 4D56DiD so you need to know where you servicing.

2. like LH said, crims = more wear on the suspension and also causes rattles on the body parts due to increased vibration

3. what was the service history like :?: non-dealer maintenance is not necessarily a bad thing because there are weirdos like me that maintain their vehicle extremely well, but important to find out

overall, 160k isn't bad, but that depends on the condition.

I'm not too familiar with those trucks, but didn't someone mention a time that those 3,2L engines are not the best?? especially when compared to the other engines Mitsubishi has to offer.. I ran one a night and held even with him in my 2.0L (gas) Grand Vitara.. That's kinda disappointing for such a big engine imo...

the 3.2L triton isn't a particularly fast vehicle

plenty low and mid range end torque

your vit is lighter and swifter than the triton, so i am not surprised at the outcome

The curb weight on my GV is around 1400kg.. not as light as you might think..

I personally like NA Diesel engines because of their low end torque and better throttle response when compared to a turbo diesel..

I read somewhere where Mitsubishi was going to phase out the 3.2 engine ... I can't remember the source and could be wrong. Not saying the 3.2 engine is a bad engine or anything. Remember it's a pickup and not an SUV or car. It's tuned differently.

W.r.t. to the Triton, was it factory maintained? If not, I wouldn't purchase it with that much mileage. If you do, budget some $$$ for potential repairs. And diesel repairs are expensive.

Good luck.

^^ yes in the new 2011 model has a 2.5 engine (not sure if it's the 4m41 or the 4d56 - prob the 4m41, venum might know better) but the 3.2 engine is not in the new lineup. It's been discontinued - at least in the UK and Australia, we might still get the older 3.2D1-D engine for a while.

Mitsubishi did some changes to the triton including a longer, flatter tray, changes to the grill and foglights and the new, more powerful engine which makes 405NM torque and as much HP as the 3.0D4D Hilux.

It was bought new from Taiwan but was maintained by one of the mechanics that works for DM (know the seller so I'm sure this is accurate).
It looks exactly like this (minus the extra tail-light), and he has agreed to pay the transfer.

I think RoadHog (haven't seen him in a while) had some fuel pump problem with one of these.

Looks like a decent ride (underneath all the bling and accessories, which BTW adds about 200-250kg deadweight to the truck   )

I remember someone was talking about a fault in the airbag deployment system in the older model Tritons, the clocksprings going faulty and then the airbag check light comes on - meaning that the airbag won't deploy properly. There is a fix available from DM however, but it should be done asap when the light comes on.

Looks like a good buy - I'd probably buy it (well, if it were me I'd sell all that carryboy stuff and buy a set of 16-inch steelies and some good BFG's or Toyo or Kumho all terrains :D - but that's just me).

the 3.2L triton/sportero is powered by the 4M41 DiD engine

this is the same engine in the new hott & sexxy 500k+ V98 pajero

different drive train though (super select)

l200 and tritons locally came with easy select

damn u DM, UK got super select in their models, whay couldn't have we :!:

mitsu ain't phasing out that engine,

they may discontinue it in the triton/L200 model line, but phase out altogether - no

it's been around locally in pajero's before the KB model L200/tritons were around
