I'm using Tokicos right now on my 07 Sportero.
It's good, price was pretty decent too.

Prob not as good as OE/Branded, but also not as expensive ;)

i think that would be a common comment from most service departments at dealers. have just ordered a new suction control valve for my triton as have bad surging at idle and it is now throwing codes up and sending into limp mode. how much are you selling the chips for?

Hello friends. Any local source for a Sportero 4m41 2010 turbo? Considering rebuild of the turbo or just flat out replacement.

Anyone using Amsoil Multi Vehicle Synthetic ATF. I find the SP III gets dark/burnt too quickly....probably under 15,000km.

I' ve read previous posts far back as 2013/16 wrt the Amsoil multi vehicle atf where it was noted that the spIII is also used in cvt transmissions and one should not risk using the multi vehicle atf even if Amsoil says its compatible.

I'm hoping to just do double drain and refill. Feedback would be appreciated

I am using it so far about 30K KM since its replaced

Before I was using the SP111 but I didn't have an issue however I used to change every 25K km as the sp111 looses viscosity

Thanks.
was going to do two drain and refill but will change filter too.

On another note I see this info on page 1......

"
Transfer oil
Gear oil API classification GL-3/GL-4, SAE 75W-85/75W-90 | 2.5 litres

Differential oil Front
Hypoid gear oil API classification GL-5 or higher | 1.2 litres
Above 10 °C SAE 90
Below 10 °C SAE 80W

Differential oil Rear
With multi plate type limited slip differential | 2.6 litres
DIA QUEEN LSD gear oil or CASTROL HYPOY LS
Without multi plate type limited slip differential
Hypoid gear oil API classification GL-5 or higher
Above 10 °C SAE 90
Below 10 °C SAE 80W"

Can I use a GL-5 80w-90 oil for the Transfer case?

Hello good day, can anyone advise what's the best engine oil to go with for a 2016 L200 with 4D56T (2.5 DiD)? My mileage is below 100,000 km and I see recommendations to use 5W30 up to 15W40.

What brand and grade are you all using? Especially the oils that quiet this engine down.

Oils are a pretty touchy subject as there is no clear right or wrong oil to use. Having said that, I can offer suggestions based on actual user feedback from actual L200 owners.

Note that the recommendations you saw to 5W30 up to 15W40 may be a little misleading, you should really look to you owners manual for the correct viscosity. I may be subject to correction but I believe these engine are to use 15W40 according to the manual (in that case you may get away with 5W40, but not 5W30)

The general feedback seems to suggest that fully synthetic oils work best (i.e. quieter operations, less burnoff, longer change intervals). As I mentioned before, you may get away with 5W40 up to 15W40 due to the fact that both grades will operate the same at operating temperature.

Some of the popular brands being used without issue are Valvoline, Amsoil, Amsoil Signature Series and NP.

You can use this info to select an oil best suited to you

Good day. I'm new to the Mitsubishi/Triton scene as I was recently gifted the vehicle.
It seems to be in fairly good condition however I have noticed two issues.
1. The engine has a "rattle" which seems to be the lifters/ rockers/ tappets. The engine is 4m41 engine 3.2L. How do I go about sourcing those parts and preparing?
2. At speeds on the highway, the steering has a noticeable kind of knocking feeling. It isn't the wheels (they are well balanced) or the steering ends as they were replaced with OEM parts about 4 months before I got the vehicle. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Good day and welcome to the club. You've made an excellent choice.

The 4M41 has a chain driven valvetrain and as such, the chain is significantly louder than the 4D56 which is belt driven. You can visit Dr. B's in Marabella to have it checked and serviced.

As for the steering knock, the 4M41 is a much heavier engine than the 4D56 but uses the same suspension and steering components. As a result, additional and premature wear occurs on these parts. That knock could come from the bushings and clamps associated with the steering rack.

Send me a WhatsApp at 349-4213 and I will direct you to the 2 mechanics who will sort the respective issues
