Hey all... thinking about getting a new Ranger.
Can anyone enlighten me on the pro and cons of the S.A.Ranger vs the Thai Ranger?

Any of you guys know any garage that has injector puller tools? I have (3) stuck injectors and (1) leaking at top. Want to replace the washers and seats. Already have the parts just need the person with proper tools.

Places I looking to stay away from : Pickup Place in Chase Village, Injector Place Chaguanas , Company

Are there any other place with quality service and reasonable pricing.

Imagine paying a shop to change the rear engine seal, they claimed that their rep at ford would link them with the seal as well at employee price...

started leaking a few weeks later

All that $$ to drop tranny to change that..don't worry I've been there and my seal still leaking, the original seal from company only last about a year after changing it. By chance who did the job so we would know to stay away from them

The persons solicit business from this site saying they are gearbox experts etc.

actually the OEM seal will last quite some time when installed correctly. the unit comes with installation hardware so that the inner seal isn't pinched in anyway when being installed. Knowing out local "experts" oh you eh need that and they force the seal in to be installed....

infact when the shop put the van up on the ramp on tuesday, the gearbox was missing 2 bolts and the remainder of bolts were simply hand tightened.... I'm guessing they were looking for repeat business by leaving stuff undone....

I just signed up to join this forum and now I'm terrified.
I have a new Ford ranger wildtrak 2016 about 1 year now and reading all these issues makes me feel sick.
I feel like I should be doing something to prevent these things from happening to me.
So far I have no issues other than my off-road craziness which is my fault.
But over all so far so good
I'm approaching 68000km and I only had this vehicle for 1 year
I service every 7500km
Oil, oil filter, air filter, and disc pads. That's about it.
I use a diesel treatment fully organic and so far I don't even see black smoke when i flaw the vehicle. I had my brother sit in a vehicle behind me like two days ago just to check because I drive behind diesel vehicles all the time and witness lots of smoke especially when flawing .

I need help when it comes to servicing because I don't know much.

Any advise?

I do servicing on them at least twice a week.

The older model rangers with the wl at least once every day.

My advice get tools and do it urself. Super simple. Buy oem filters as I have no luck with subs in this model. The older models substitutes works fine.

Torque ur wheels bc studs and lugs are very easy to get damaged if u using air tools.

Most recently they were using Castrol Magatec on the ranger.

Did my 5000 km service. They used original Ford oil ( Motorcraft) with part number XO-5W30-LDG.
Tried to google it but other sites telling me that part has been discontinued so not sure what that is about.

Probably the most honest and best advice you will get in here. Just check the ford ranger group and see the numerous post about issues with these vans....

The sales rep will tell u all issues have been sorted out. DON'T BELIEVE THEM

Look at another brand. Save yourself the stress.
I owned a 2014 model and sold it after 2 yrs. They are riddled with issues.

Yeah but these are issues which occur with the unfortunate few, just like any other brand.

Also I think Ansa uses Motorcraft engine coolant (orange). I want to top up my reservoir using Preston’s precision blend (green). Will that void my warranty?

Hey when I purchased the ranger I loved it. Drives and handles absolutely beautifully. Used daily from South to Pos and back. All services done at ANSA.
Apart from horrible customer service in POS the van had a couple issues which occurred below 50000kms. Thank God it was under warranty. Faulty coolant hose, they changed several times saying the new hose is industrial strength and FORD South Africa is using them. When there is a coolant leak the temp gauge will not increase. It actually drops. This is by design. Injector pump went ( approx $27000 for a new one). They eventually replaced it as I threatened to cancelled another ranger I had on order. After they fixed it i still cancelled my 2nd order. One month after the lights on the instrument panel went out. Took 2 months and eventually replaced. Then the radio would intermittently work. They took over 1 yr to replace this. The blue information display also went. The current owner is still battling to habe this fixed as it was reported during warranty. Oh yes forgot to mention, sometimes the 6th gear will refuse to select. It was an automatic edition. They would often reset the tranny ECU to correct this.
Every vehicle has issues but I really don't expect to have so many expensive issues within 2 yrs of ownership. Previously had a 3.2 Sportero and had zero issues after 5 yrs of ownership.

I remember reading civic minded post and I said those issues must have been corrected as the sales person convinced me. The van is an absolute joy to drive but there is a price to pay.

I owned a 2008 model , no issues drives beautifully, I bought the 2010 work really great up till about 60k when problems began . Thing is - since I was in ansa so much I experienced first hand issues with the newer rangers , even the brand new ones still have issues - one of my good friends is the service manager in ansa and he himself told me it's better I go with the l200 than the ranger.

I am not bashing rangers but I just got burnt too much with them. Maybe the newest set are better , last I went in and check with the service manager was when I was shopping around about year ago. If u own one then ensure you have your warranty, that very important

So here goes, I guess.

Getting a clunking noise coming from the rear of my Ranger when going over uneven ground. Not really humps, but more bad road, I hear it. To me it sounds like the muffler ready to fall off.

I have to go service the van on Friday, so will have them check it. Would ANSA drive the vehicle to identify the noise as well, or will they just inspect?

Anyone has any idea.
