rmrunner wrote:Oh Ok. Well the Camshaft position sensor is located next to the cam shaft. Facing the engine from the front, remove the top cover. On the left side top you will see the sensor mounted to the side, check the wiring first and make sure all is proper and you can also take this out and try to clean it. Another good inspection is undo the timing cover and verify the timing belt is still there and tensioned.

Mazda Part # for Cam Shaft Sensor : WE01-18-230

I hope it is..because if it's not..A camshaft sensor is the least of his worries.. :(

have a 2012 ford ranger. Hearing a clicking sound from under dash near ac box. Ac works fine otherwise. Doesnt sound like the blower motor ansd the sound only occurs sometimes. Did some research online and some folks say it could be the "blend door actuator " in the ac system. Have anyone else on the group had this similiar problem?how difficult is the changeout of this actautor? Found it online pretty reasonable as well.

Hey do you have the 3.2? If so the blender motor is a common issue with this model.

The firm changes the tranny oil at 60,000kms both 3.2 and 2.2. I think it takes 9L if it's a flush and refill. 4L if it's a drain and refill.

Is the pulley turning and the belt tightened? Try Measuring the alternator output(suppose to be around 14V). Trace wire from alternator to battery make sure no damage( do a continuity test, not sure if there is a fuse), check your ground connections. With the Van started, rev the engine to 1500- 2000 Rpm and see if the voltage on the battery changes.

Chances are if you changed alternator twice you may have a bad battery that not taking the charge.

All the connections good. I will have to get a volt meter. The battery light not even coming on. When I rev to engine and disconnect the terminal the engine cutting off.

Wtk: I'm thinking about getting a 2014 ranger 2.2 manual xlt. I've heard so many rumours about problems, i know for a fact that all vehicles have their own issues, some big and some small, which is expected so i would like to hear from the owners and technicians what are the know issues with this particular model thus far. Thanks

So coming home from mt hope Friday morning at
4am,heading central,nice clear road,cool air.
Near bird sanctuary I decided to tip the x a bit on the ranger 3.2.
As soon as I did drivetrain light came on and van went to limp mode.
I drove home and switched off, next day started van and error was gone but van seemed a little lazy driving in back roads by me.
So I started checking the simple stuff first, fluids, belts, etc.
Found this.
