What do u think about this? Because no way she could hear me loud and clear if the phone was on top the hood outside and the glass all the way up.

I hope you did that while at a standstill or in the garage.
And not driving at 120km/h.

Just sayin'... :) :) :) :D :D :D

Yes, I did test with the phone outside whilst my pickup was standstill. Guys, I don't think the phone was connecting blue tooth but rather through the wire jacked into the Aux input. I will check and confirm this morning. Fact is though I am hearing my callers on the radio speakers, they are hearing me loud and clear while the phone is outside the vehicle. Still this feature is soo soo cool to have in a pickup.

The iPod interface is actually a normal 'line-in" to the head unit in the truck. You can use any mp3 player with it as long as it is obviously the same size. vharripersad, the cable you used from the phone the to iPod jack... does it have two or three black stripes on each end of the connectors?

If it's just two, that would mean the jack is audio output only: left & right channel plus the ground. If it's three black stripes, it would mean that a line for the mic is included in the cable with the three channels listed above....four in total

Now the question is if the iPod interface in the truck has three or four lines leading back to the head unit. If it is indeed four lines, that would mean the head unit may have a hidden mic..... if not, your Nokia really has a sensitive microphone.

I think u guys are misunderstanding what i am saying, here is what happens:
Phone Ring
I answer
I hear caller voice on radio speakers
caller hears me loud and clear
All this providing normal headphone wire from phone and into the AUX in Jack
If I put the phone inside the tray, on the hood, on the bonnet WHILE the cable is connected to the AUX in and i have my glass almost up, caller still hears me loud and clear.

Hope this clarifies it for u guys.

no we understand very well what you saying...

maybe by connecting the AUX it activates a speakerphone feature built into the head unit.

dont know if u can find a manual for the head unit or how about trying another phone - it could be a feature specific to the 5130.

Try it with another phone.
Also consult your user manual.
If all else fails, ask the sales rep who sold you the van.

If none of the above explains how you're able to achieve this sorcery, then it's best we not question the powers that be that blessed us with the gift of sound and magic.

No bai !

they probably dont know about it and might want to jack up the price for "handsfree kit"

Whoever else have that model could try it with a phone too and see if it works.

Civic Minded, Do this for me:
Jack phone into Aux port in your van
Press Media button on your radio
Turn your volume to around 12
Call someone or have someone call u. U will now hear them on the radio speakers.
Place ur phone under ur seat, or hang it outside the window with the window almost shut but not to pinch the wire, talk to ur caller and they would still hear u loud and clear.

Guys,
What is the maximum height of water that I can pass through with my ranger? In other words, water up until the middle of the rim? water up to the numberplate? Wait and make sure a ranger in front of me successfully goes through the flood before I do?

Anyone care to share their experiences?

if u going thro water that height - it is important that you do not change gears or switch off and start your engine..
One thing you need to worry about is that the placement of the ecu in the engine bay - if you notice is the bottom right - just behind the headlights.....honestly this is really a stupid place to put that. The 06 ranger is close to the bonnet to the back righthand side.

These vehicles come with coded key. I wonder how hard it is to replace them.

Is it simply going to the firm and asking for a replacement, or is it more complicated than that?

sweeks, check RUDD Lockmasters, they specialize in those types of keys. They are located on Duke Street, POS .....opposite NLCB. I don't have their number here but they are in the book.

Guys,
When my dad and I bought the rangers, about one year apart, we only got one remote to arm and disarm the alarm, lock the door etc. I want a second remote but the firm said its gonna cost 2000. Who can I go to for a second remote that will work and how much does it cost? Thanks

Vharripersad .... What kind of alarm is it? Call Saied 6853227. He does a lot of work for the dealerships.

Sweeks, not sure what type of alarm it is, when it is armed though and goes off, only the horn sounds and the light flashes. My van came like this factory installed. Will call saied to see if I can get a second remote at a better price

Guys, I know this topic was discussed already and even the firm told me not to shock oil my van. How come then all those service station does be doing it to all them vehicles? Is shock oil really a bad thing? And when my van starts squeeking, does that mean that the firm should grease it up and I should not shock oil it? I am confused because so many people use the shock oil, yet trinituner members and the firm advising never to use shock oil. Somone shed some light please.

Shock oil may damage the rubbers on your suspension bits.
Grease will last longer and give better lasting lubrication.

buy Lithium-based grease - you can get it at most hardware, that is what the firm uses to greaseup your ranger

CM I believe it's a sealed system.... good for 240 000km. Check the owner's manual to confirm.

No luck with the person u ask me to contact. I did manage to call and talk with him but he wanted me to call him back the day after so I never bothered, I mean who really wants the sale, him or I?. I saw it for 20 pounds on ebay uk site with programming instructions, however the supplier ships internationally except in Trinidad, Chile and a couple other places. So have already contacted the UK supplier concerning shipping and will be awaiting his response soon. I am averaging shipping to be around 6 pounds, customs less than TT100 so in total if I do get through, it would cost me 360TT dollars. This is way good for me cause the rip off firm wanted me to pay 2000 dollars.

Guys,
My 4x4 is normally used to hang my childs bottle warmer but guess what it came in handy yesterday. Was driving up trincity and the rain started pouring heavily. My van felt as though it was drifting and unstable in the water on the road, even at a speed of 60k. So when I got the next red light, I engage it into 4H and then I really felt as though I had control on all wheels. Did not wait for dry road but Took it off as soon as I cleared the heavy water road area on the highway just to avoid the binding thingy someone spoke about in this forum.
