131KW = 171HP.

The two most powerful trucks you can buy locally is the 2.5L 4x4 auto/manual Navara, and the 3.0L TDCI ranger.

The UK/Australian markets got a new 2.5L D1D engine that's more powerful than the Navara, makes 175HP and 407NM torque - which is more powerful than even the 3.2L Triton engine. The 3.2D1D engine is gonna be retired in the UK/Aus market but AFAIK it's still gonna be available here. The new 2.5L sportero/triton isn't coming down here as yet.... perhaps as a 2012 or 2013 model (since trinidad always a couple years behind).

What I did like about the sportero is how comfortable it was, plus the tight turning circle = easy to park. The navara is longer and has a wider turning circle, and the Ranger is just a bit wider than the L200 Sportero.

I didn't like the styling of the Sportero at first, but I find that it's growing on me. IMO, a Sportero with nice beefy All terrain or off-road tyres will look like a monster.

That is D look self we looking for...I love those flares and I dont mind a nice set of Black Bullbars (anybody know if thoses available locally???)

I am amazed how smooth the ride is for this type of vehicle and the braking system is incredible i think...no slingshot brakes like other 4x4's i've driven before...

As I said it takes a bit getting use to the size especially when D Mivec was so low (naturally) that is...No regrets.
