I didn't mention the most common truck to get caught of fire for no reason is a ford I have seen personally 4 of these burning, one in a parking lot and three on the side of the freeway. They seem to have major electrical problems

yeah thats why they been recalling all there trucks. Someone mention it here earlier on in this thread. It was sad to see it. This guy walked into a hardware store to buy some thing and when he came out the truck was up in flames. We tried putting the fire out with extinguishers but we had to move away in case the gas tank blew up.

Wow... the debate rages on. To the ORIGINAL question: Bro you need to go test drive them both. All depends on what you want. If you want a couple reps from each company, pm me and I'll hook you up...

babyboyxs wrote:ohk its just that i have NEVER NEVER seen or heard a ford or mazda down for repairs down here yes i saw them goin for servicing or if a accident i might sopt one in a body work shop but not any mechanically problem

well partner i guess u should come visit our yard

we have 5 yes 5 madza pickups models ranging from TAZ ,TBR and TBZ

now the TAZ was manual and gave no trouble and is still goin strong

the TBR came 2.8 gas automatic and these were liiterallly hell.. both were bought brand new and jees if i had to deal with southern sales rep i would cuss dem... bear in mind my neighbour and best friend works there.. their biggest problem is the radiator top and bottom comin loose because it is plastic moulded onto the core, the water pump has a habit of just seizing up on u and causin the engine to overheat
on one of our vans the temp went right up and blew the head gasket .. went to SS to get parts waited 4 hrs just to be told its being ordered and will be in a few weeks.. decided to drop the head by the machine shop only to find out it is warped both on top and underneath with a 4 inch hairline crack ... goes in to SS and they have no head in stock nor does the incompetant parts sales rep know when they will be gettin in ..so van is down 3 montsh now
now mind u this van was very well taken car of an never driven hard by my dad so it was not lack of care nor someone who does not knwo how to drive.

all our vehicles are services by mechanics who work at SS so i hear of stories and what is goin on in there...

as for the 2007 models madza it ooks liek a cross between a fronteir and a hilux... and i heard the deisel automatics are due soon .. might give these a try

I agree that the Mazdas have heat control issues... I went thru quite a few with my personal vehicle and the trucks on work.
One of the brand new trucks in work radiator cracked for no apparent reason. I still dunno what it was.

But other than that they are great vehicles - just look and see what all the guys in oil and gas using and that should answer your questions.
