is it locked in 4H or 4L and teh light flashing

or is it actually in 2H and teh light flashing?

this is a common problem with L200's

there is a solenoid under the center console by the transfer lever that is usually the problem

you can also check for a defective vacuum line on the front diff. there are 2 wires on the actuator on teh front diff - trace and check as well

My friend has a 2008, L200 automatic 4D56 local. The 4x4 works great, both high and low range however the indicator light on the dash does not light up to show the driving range. Any suggestions?

hey venum you ever found out what the fog light bulbs are? somebody told me H11 but then i looked for the fog lights and it said 9006 and another H11

i need to change the lights in mine as i find they are too dim

would you guys recommend Halogen (PIAA or Silverstar etc), Helium bulbs or HID?

note that i wouldnt like trouble when passing through police blocks or license officers

PIAA's are great swap in's - super plasma GT-X

HID is best in the list that u have

I have 6000K in my headlights and 8000K in my fogs and have never gotten any probs in a roadblock, but I usually switch off the fogs when I see roadblock

I can't drive with yellow lights anymore

I will check the manual for the fog bulb
type

i finally got the time to change my fog light bulbs the bulb type is h11

i have a 2007 model but note that these vans came with 2 different brands of log lights

one bulb type is 9006 and the other is h11

so dont hold me to it if you buy h11 and yours is 9006

Hey pumadog,

One of my customers installed a train horn in front by the radiator and another running along side the engine this was on a navara (we all know navara stock horn very soft ) The thing is crazy loud will scare the crap out of anyone that give him a bad drive...but you cant go over the pit with that..(with the right officer you might get away with it) but it is an illegal mod.

I dont sell it but Pm me if you want more info will get the brand and who did the install for him.

Hey guys read through this entire thread, very informative indeed. Thanks for the excellent info. I have a 2003 L200 Twin Cab 4D56 non turbo. It was bought local from DM and maintained there up until December 2010. The owner there after did maintenance changing engine oil every 6000KM using Castrol Synthetic and diff oil ONLY once using a synthetic oil but he can't remember the brand, he also changed glow plugs and majority of the suspension. :D I am on 299,000KM and the van runs beautifully. Lots of power u would think it was turbo-ed, slight black smoke when u give it throttle though. What maintenance do u recommend now i also wanna get disc pads the ones that are on arent OEM so they catch dust easily. DM Tobago has them for $995 and thats with the company discount. :|

welcome to our L200 loving side of the Internet.

you have a wealth of knowledge here. please contribute whatever you have to share as you visit.

at the edge of 300,000km mark the first order would be a 100,000km service interval maintenance

timing and balance shaft belts and tensioners

camshaft and crankshaft seals as well as other oil seals like the back and half moon (engine usually is removed to do these as they are hard to reach while it is in the vehicle, so change all the hard to reach seals while the engine is out)

prob a rebuild kit with ALL the seals

alternator, power steering and A/C belts

gearbox and transfer case oil

front and rear diff oil

power steering fluid

coolant

torsion bars tightening

check clutch and pressure plate

check brake and clutch fluid

bleed fuel tank

Venum, the fog light switch in a 3.2 Sportero doesn't work properly, sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. Any idea what this could be?
