the specs on both Mazda and Ford - i wonder if the servicemen in Trinidad could diagnose and repair if something goes wrong.

SSL already cant do much for existing vehicles except change oil.

has anyone gotten updated info on dates when the dealer will get the new ranger
& approx cost, I knew they might have started at $220. I'm seriously considering
getting one when it becomes available locally.

There will be a limited stock of auto - rangers - 2.2 and 3.2, hurricane and thunder versions- they will be here in January 2012. The dealership said that they are almost sold out already. Very few are remaining.

Yeah you might have to wait for the next shipment to arrive, not sure when that will come but , just wait and see what happens.

so I passed into the showroom earlier & inquired about the 2012 Ranger, apparently
the first shipment is due late January, only 2.2 & 3.2 auto, the manual ones might be
available in June. The estimated prices are 2.2L 4x2 auto $249K and the 2.2L 4x4 auto
$279K, didn't bother to inquire about the 3.2L. Most of the 2.2L in the first shipment are
booked, stock is expected to be in monthly from South Africa. The salesman did stress
that those prices are only estimated.

I thought the 2.2L 4x4 auto would have been priced a little lower, I guess I'll wait till
the manuals arrive in June which is extimated to cost close to the 4x2 auto.

the current 4x4 2.5 is $212K and they're going to run both
models together because "they know that everyone won't.
be able to afford the 2012 model"

I'll be shopping around for more options, the only turn off
from the current model is limited cabin space for rear seat
passengers and that model has been around for some time now.

ah phooey, you know all we gonna be getting is the XL and XLT versions, possibly with upgrade packages similar to the HUrricane and Thunder packages - I highly doubt MEM is gonna bring the wildtrak model down.


And in any case, i don't care what engine you get - the question is can MEM do the servicings, do they carry the parts for the engines/drivetrain and can their bush-mechanics give you a proper servicing??


Oh, and around this time last year (when I was shopping for my own truck) the 2.5 WLT direct injection in 4x4 manual was $185,000. The 2.5 WLC TDCi 4x4 automatic was $225,000. The 3.0 TDCi barebones was in 4x4 automatic was $239,000.

For real prices just going up and up...the bt50 di-turbo (2.5 WLC) is now $245K- and it started at 230K when introduced just over a year ago.

I was considering selling my bt but i changed my mind...keeping her...lol

Lighthammer- true them bush mechanic. I cant say for MEM but gosh SSL take the cake.

As I keep thinking - its time to probably consider briniging in your own vehicle...
