The 2012 Ford Ranger & Mazda BT-50 - THEY'RE HERE!!

The 2.5 TDCI common rail (not the WLT) is an excellent engine, and the automatic gearbox is actually very well made and the gear-ratios almost perfectly matched to the power-output.

This means the transmission will very efficiently transfer power from a very strong & sturdy engine to the road and/or trail... probably more efficiently than the other companies.

The 3.0 TDCI engine is just overkill .

The price I've been told is not going to pass the 300k, but be close.

I don't believe that as now the fully loaded lux is already at 315.

If you looking to buy a ranger, and you not willing to spend the 275+ pricetag, buy the current model. Work a deal with a 4X4 2.5...

they quote me 259k for the 3.0tdci fully loaded...
and i feelin hard to buy it with the new one jus around the corner....i feel i go wait.

the 2012 Ranger is expected in December, the first shipment is going to fleet accnt owners and was already quoted @ $280k....if it goes up after, i cant say...

My ranger was the WLT and you all know the HELL I put that truck through. Mounted the Tracks on it pulled 20 ft car haulers all over and was the most looked for truck in los cuavus (ok I know I didn't spell that right) I lost count of how many people I pulled out of there.

got a call from the manager yesterday. Delay in shipping so the Ranger won't be here until March 2012.....also they are not bringing the "Wildtrack" model.....

MEMotors would never bring down the wildtrak model - Ford Motor Corp International doesn't see much sales potential here (even the RORO deals don't sell enough volume in their vigo's and navararara's to mobile entire containerfuls of wildtraks).


Besides, it's always cheaper to buy the highest-spec barebones model and modify it yourself. Whether as a bling-mobile or an off-roader rig, that's the cheaper way.


3.2 Model, auto 4x4, fabric seats... I'm guessing around $250,000 asking price. Thunder model might be around $275K - their entering Hilux territory now.

^^it is a rise across the board on all pickups - if you realised , they are adding more gizmos and gadgets in the newer ones. so obviously prices will go up. They are making pickups more and more like cars so they incorporating more technology into them.

Just wish they would make the Base models with the Beast engine... But NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

The base models always comes with the shiddy low end engine.... Imagine the commercial spec with the 3.0 engine.. Now thats what I want!!!! Oh Yeah!!!

I watching those features and thinking how far north of $300K a fully spec out truck will cost.... From knowing how the local stealerships operate, we are not gonna get the all of those features (display in rear view mirror & voice recognition) in what THEY would call "fully loaded" unit. I'd be really shocked to see those features on a fully loaded model here.
