Thanks venum, called around for a new one as well.
The Keko looks good, 4x4 Trinidad has em for about 2800 installed and I'm considering it.

The most important thing for me is that it's properly waterproof. I have a newborn and her stuff needs to be nice and dry in the tray if rain comes.

morning tunerz, need some feedback from anyone who probably experienced this problem.
I've got a 2007 sportero, 3.2 auto, doing over 200xxx km.
Whenever i cross 100km the engine checklight comes on, the vehicle cuts off and i have to restart.
The checklight does not come off after about two restarts.
Did a diagonstic on the vehicle and results were, "fuel leak problem". checked all the lines, changed fuel filter, ensured no diesel leaking, problem continues.
Did a second diagnostic which read, "fuel injector pump (large)". Mechanic indicated that soloniod on fuel pump may need to replaced, if not then replace the fuel pump. Any other suggesstions or anyone knows anyone who has one for sale?

I think someone on here mentioned having issues with theirs a couple pages back. A friend of ours said he got a notice from the firm to come in and have his replaced :/

On another note, could someone recommend somewhere to check on my suspension? I have to do a balance and alignment soon, how good are the mileage mack guys with general diagnostics? I know our leaf springs squeak, but the noises coming from under mine seems unbearable; had a old man in an ole school pickup, loaded with coconuts gimme a pity look the other day when he heard me creaking down the road

replaced my seat controller switch

it goes bad in a lot of Sporteros

I had the exact prob you had which worsened till it was only sending the seat down, and not back up

had to swap around the motor to get the seat back up

should be replaced under warranty

received the letter today, didn't have the time to scan it though, but it basically highlights the model years, recall type, and a notice to bring in the vehicle if it's broken or even if it's fine. Was impressed to see that we do this locally.
Wished they could have issued one for the clock spring, clunky steering column, funky lighting issue, ac evaporator, etc, etc  :x

Yes I had to replace my switch too. They say the switch cap is the problem. Have to go in to replace that under recall

I wouldn't get that letter . . . damn

mine still on their records as the first owner . . . and I already replaced mine earlier this year . . . steupes

ANYWAYS . . . I blanked my EGR today by Dr.B

made the flange out of roofing material

Image

Image

Image

Remove the EGR pipe where it exits the EGR cooling chamber to the EGR valve

Image

Remove the gasket

Image

Overlay gasket on flange material and trace pattern for cutout

Image

Image

Cut out the pattern

Image

Insert cut-out between layers of gasket

Image

Image

Replace gasket and EGR piping

Image

total time start to end ~ 20 min

Y'all know the doctor number, call him and make your appointments

Q. What are the benefits of blocking the EGR port/pipe?
A. Many.

Cooler intake air temps.
More performance.
Less engine oil contamination.
Cleaner engine oil means increased engine life.
Cooler exhaust temps.
No Soot in intake which keeps vacuum / boost lines clean
Increase turbo response

Q. What are the negatives of blocking the EGR System?
A. It is against the law to change the way the vehicle’s emission control systems function.

However, in Trinidad there is no road side diesel testing.

Cool will definitely have to get that done because I know about the steep price the company charges to clean that. On another note went to the company for the recall only to see the service rep guy change the switch that reclines the back rest on the driver seat and that was it. Really thought it was something more to be done.

I got the tiptronic transmission. No delay. Power when you need it. That coupled with the most hp in its class... Always a pleasure to drive.
