Diesel additives

Postby insidious76 » February 12th, 2014, 10:41 pm

Can I put any diesel additive or conditioner in a brand new hilux, just off the showroom?

Don't see why not but take care and go with the manual and warranty stipulations.

You can but I don't see the reason for it since it's basically new. I've been using amsoil diesel concentrate and octane boost once a month for the past 5 yrs, never had any problems like engine knocking, excessive smoking etc. fuel consumption has also been consistent.

+1 on the amsoil. Using it 5+ years on an l200 and the van still runs like a beast

TCH L200 4D56.

350,000 km, second engine.

Any additive suggestions for black smoke?

Diesel and air filter already changed.

Amsoil concentrate. Just add 2oz every full up and you good. No smoke from the triton using that.

D only ting tht used to stop my van from smoking was amsoil diesel additive

I didn't put any for d last few fill ups an d van was smoking rel bad, so I decided to try a different approach
I added nano energizer ceramic engine coating to d engine and after about 900km of usage d van hardly smoking nw
Monitoring my emissions as time goes by but it seems like tht nano energizer ting is som gd chit

PS not an official spokesperson, but willing to accept commission

If the smoke is really bad add a half bottle of the concentrate....

My normal mix is the concentrate and cetane boost.... every fill up I add 2oz of the mix
