After reading some of these posts here I am having second thoughts as I experience none of the issues I see here which would annoy the heck out of me. even more so since I have No squeaks no rattles on old betsy..

Is it possible that the newer models that N&M have now have these issues sorted out, like the steering rack etc??

squeaks are trunk lid needs grease

Exactly what 'grease"' do u guys use for this?

its the locking mechanisms for your bonnet any all-purpose automotive grease will work
this was the solution to my squeeking problems i thought it was the suspension but after pressing down the front to check the shocks and hearing squeeking when shutting the driver door i found the culprit . Just pack in some grease on the mechanism and u should be good to go for a while

Guys i am approaching 100 000 KM ( 5 years old) and i am preparing to have the timing chains changed etc. I have started to notice a slight vibration, i suspect an engine mount may need to change. I am also feeling a bit more bumps. What KM/age have you guys changes shocks and mounts?

i now hit 100,000km last week (the day before the Total/Trailblazers Rally) and I have a list of major maintenance items to do:

- change oil & filter
- clean MAF sensor
- flush radiator
- change shocks (may go with aftermarket if they cost the same or less than OEM Tokico/Nissan shocks)
- rotate tires
- change diff oils
- change gear oil
- flush AC system and change cabin filter
- change indicator fluid
- check flux capacitor and top up with extra plutonium if necessary

(just fyi, the last two were fake).

I have a Nissan service listing somewhere around here that has teh full service listing at 100,000km.

So far so good.

Thanks for the response LightHammer, some how i thought you would have been doing more than 100 000. Are you changing the Timing chains? I am going to change the chains, my fuel filter and i'm considering change the particulate however it is a filter that is almost never mentioned in the service manual. But i will change it one time, i also think the rear mount is bad and will change that also.I will change my shocks next month, most of the parts i'm sourcing through Filterpros.
I know you do your things yourself but do you have a Mech you would recommend?

LightHammer when you are researching the shocks, let me know how it goes. I just assumed that OEM would be better.

foss,

I gotz the "OEM" TT - the amazon one you listed.
It's still basic but the fit in the D40 is great. Really has a "factory" look to it.
Really happy with it and convinced my co-worker to get one as well.
Paid $350 in my hand (bought off ebay). Did the install myself.

Is it a full auto timer? Or manual?

I have the GReddy Full Auto Turbo Timer. Working great since day 1.

There are 2 versions.
I ordered the auto but got the manual version. :!:
Seller then sent the auto when I emailed him.

But I had already installed the manual unit and it worked great... so didn't bother to change out.
Sold the auto unit though.

I usually leave it a standard time unless I drove hard.
To change the time, you just press the same button... and to bypass, just hold down the button.

Guys beside ROC and Filterpros, are there any other people/companies that resell genuine parts at good prices? N&M always has parts but their prices are ridiculous

FYI for the guys that use AMSOIL Diesel Concentrate, pictured below:

Image

I went to stock up today and was told it has been replaced with this black bottled AMSOIL Diesel Injector Cleaner.
The AMSOIL website no longer lists the Diesel concentrate as well. The fluid itself is a darker colour.
AMSOIL calls it a "Performance Concentrate," with similar listed benefits as the Diesel Concentrate, including, "Improves fuel economy by 4.5%."
The original concentrate claimed an improvement of 5%. The directions states, "Excellent for use with AMSOIL Diesel Cetane Boost..."

Is anyone getting the " oil Low" message on their dashboard?

Happened to me today even though oil is up and only running for 2500Km with original filter. Been reading on the net that it is a common glitch...

Visually check it and inform the firm. Could be the sensor malfunctioning

ok guys....time for my input.

My Nav is at the firm for repairs. Turns out there's more water than diesel in the tank.
The in tank fuel pump was changed out along with the other fuel filters and road test done. Now the problem lies at the high pressure pump?injector pump which is said to be damaged due to the water in the system.

This van is now at 68XXX kms
