Hey DVSTT, no I did not add one in, I opened up mines, saw the cabin filter, took it out and carried it along with me when I was looking for the replacement

For some reason DM imports the Sportero without an A/C filter. If you found one already installed, there is a great possibility we installed it for DM at our shop when we replaced the evaporator.

i know someone replaced the evaporator in our van, don't think it was kingkool, but they told us it did not have an ac filter. How hard is it to install and how much will it cost?

Virgin offroad run, both me and my new used truck. Went on a trail to Rincon on the north coast led by my experienced cousin/parter in crime with a zuki jimny. Then came out and took a another trail to the beach alongside las cuevas.

Got a chance to play with 4wd a bit; had truckloads of fun. Learned a thing or three about offroading and mud, as well as handling my pickup on the maracas curves. (coming down from maracas is much harder than going up, especially when learning vehicle dynamics on a truck!)

Can't wait to do it again, but with better shoes (these Michelin Lats HTs are almost ready to be changed out)

Plus I realized after two weeks of ownership, I didnt have the wheel locknut key, I felt blessed/lucky to find a tyre shop in Petit Bourg who was open today of all days. The dude figured out how to remove them. Got a quick replacement for under a hundrex bux.

Whew. Tired like a dog now.

Mud under le truck and wasa pressure low. Gotta carry her for an underwash and shock oil!

I remember the first time I used the 4wd on our van. Got stuck in a "carpark" after rain fell. Got it out no fuss what so ever, and the 3.2 has so much low end torque i was amazed at how much power the van had. However I'm too afraid of it getting scratched or paint chips to carry it off road :/.

3.2 4m41 looking as if it's much easier to maintain.

cant speak for the 2.5 because ive never owned one, but my 3.2 has yet to call for an engine part other than maintenance, ive had the vehicle a little over a year and so far put on about 20K km on it, this year makes it 5 years old. I love my 4m41.

We have the 3.2. 2 things went wrong with it while it was under "warranty" at DM. The turbo sensor went and something else also went. Though the van was under "warranty", the problem parts were not covered and we had to pay for repairs. Was around $900-$1000 for the turbo sensor.

yes. that exact same one. the reverse lights stay on at times with very low current.
checked it out and found that where the wires enter the switch was bare. wires were touching etc. played with it a little and got lights to come on fully. i decided to take it out. on removal i saw that some of the strands of the wiring had broken too. will try to get the electrician to repair but just wanted to know if i need a replacement, where i could get one.

DM might have it at a reasonable price new

lemme know if this is what you need:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GENUINE-MITSU ... 460d16a490

switch is on Drivers side rear of the main gear box, mounted to the side if I remember correctly

Found this on the L200 Owners Club
Drivetrain - Gearboxes, Diffs, 4WD forum (Paid members section)

just thought I'd update an old topic as I finally got round to sorting my lights this weekend as it's mot time. my switch and wiring is all fine just lights flicker and don't come on half the time when in reverse.

The switch itself turns the lights on when it's NOT pressed in, so when reverse is selected it allows the little push rod thingy to extend outwards turning the lights on, when nuetral and any other forward gear is selected the switch is held IN and the lights go out. So to fix simply pack the switch OUT of the gearbox with 1 or 2 more washers till it works as it should. Simple as that
.

and

Switch is on the right hand side of the grearbox. Should be the only switch on that side of the 'box.
Wire colours on the switch are Red with Green tracer and Red with blue tracer.
Fuse is No 10 (10A) on the junction box under the steering wheel, second from the right in a row of 4 (below a row of 5). This fuse also feeds the combination meter - just about every other warning light in the instrument unit, plus rear diff lock and part of the SRS system. So if the fuse has gone, you'll also be missing supply to several other things, as listed.
The Red with Blue tracer runs to both rear lamp assemblies, each of which are then earthed with a black wire.

^wow.
were you born in a k14 by chance ;]

that is exactly what mine looks like see pic:

see what i meant about the wires @ the switch end...
+ the 'piston isn't moving.
from your info and my investigation, i guess the broken wires = dim lights + the stuck piston = finicky reverse lights.
will call faiz and dm on tuesday.
thanks again mr l200. [think you should edit ur screen name...... seriously]

when the turbo sensor went, what were the symptoms? did it throw a check light?

Yes, coming down from the airport the engine light came on. Next day when it was carried to DM they determined it was the sensor. It's a little L shaped thing, 2-4cm in length.

Was that the Mass Air Flow sensor on the side of the engine ... ? Did they replace an L shaped thin hose? See pic below:

No it wasn't a hose, a plastic L shaped tubular thing. Think it was the turbo O2 sensor, not sure though.
