No problem with my engine and tranny (2 years old with about 50K KM on the odo).
As with Aaron all I had as well were some suspension noise which N&M sorted out.

I had a Maska Navs never had any issues did 50K in about a year and a Half.... I sell alot of Van Parts for various Brands and I can give you trends of high selling parts , Navara Parts that sell alot are Spiral and Cross member but those are two years and older , On occasions i get request for Turbos but those are vans that have been poorly serviced. Disc pads give you 30-35K with normal driving, Navaras part that sell the most for me is Mud guards lol owners with dogs....

Changed some shocks only after three years old vans...

Compared to Toyota which I have sold alot of injectors for , the Navara yd25ddti is a solid engine takes alot to break it...

Have one three years now (79K) and no issues with engine or tranny. i have a sealed tranny so i will not be changing oil till 100k.....had a lot of issues with suspension and eratic tire wear but after changing the steering rack, problems gone....engine a bit noisy though but i guess that is how they were designed...
spoke to james mosley recently and he recommended total oil for diff, tranny and transfer case.....any experience with this oil so far fellas.....

anyways just a few questions to u well educated guys;
i. been having a problem with steering gettin some sort of play, carried it in they said rack and couplings hv 2 change, got back the vehicle and they said it didnt need 2 change but just an adjustment, i not gettin the same play, but more like a rattling and shaking coming from inside the starin wheel when i go over ruff roads

iii. i on stock 16's with some all terrain michellin 265/70/16, real nice set of shoes here, but within the last month ive find the van pullin to the left, took it back 2 my aligment place in maraval, quickservice the rotate balance align, same problem, took it 2 ACL Arima align, same pullin, took it 2 massy, same pull, what u think it could b inner and outer in the rack or something in the suspension. never get into no accident in the van so i doubt its the axel bend, any suggestions

does the steering shake up or down if you firmly move it?

there's a bearing in the coloumn that may have gone bad, i'll post a DIY how to check it soon. stick with the thread for updates

The noise in the navara steering column actualy comes from the stearing wheel houseing usualy nm insulates the houseing had this same issue thought it was the rack oe linkage or something but it was not just some crappy loose metal in the steering housing according to nm its a common problem

gready123456, he can also ask n&m to check the horn pad... i had a similar problem and the horn pad needed to be secured.... highmani, your van is still under warranty, press them as much as possible to get your steering rack changed.... had same issue with pulling and is now fixed, also check tire pressure as well....

Which engine is it? YD25 or QD32. Nissan never made a YD32.

Yes they do know a guy who brought down one. However you must either have a farmers card or have your own company.

So last Tuesday I finally got my Navara, Manual, White. I plan on servicing by the firm, already have 800 Km so will try and get to them on saturday for the 1000 Km service.

I have a coluple questions, i want to eventually add a roll and lock tray cover but i realise that the tail gate does not lock, is there a way to install a locking mechanism on the tail gate?

And where sells FITT door handle finishers? I have been looking online with no luck.

Congrats on ur purchase man, and welcome to the navara family.

Make sure when u service at nm u get them to stamp ur service booklet whenever u go.

As for the roll n lock, it has its own mechanism that will be installed on to the tail gate so that when u lock the shutter, your tailgate gets locked too at the same time. It's actually quite sturdy and just as secure as a regular car trunk.

Hi all, not from T&T but from St Martin/Maarten up north, hoping to find some info here.

Got a 2006 D22 Frontier, I'll list out the specs here
[Edit] AX grade
QD32 engine
4 speed Auto with O/D
4x4 with low gear transfer case
90.000 km

Need to do a full service, got a lot of info on the ATF so I'm good with that.

But I've been looking around for the oil type & viscosity for the QD32 for ever and haven't found it yet. Owner's manual says nothing about it.
On this thread termite01 said he had posted the service manual for the D22 QD32 viewtopic.php?f=41&t=370243 but didn't find it.
Would be helpful if anyone had the service manual or could tell me exactly what viscosity it takes.

On a side note, does anyone know where I can get parts for this setup where I am? Need to replace the 3 accessory belts and might need a steering rack.

Thanks in advance

Couple questions for you guys:

1. Who's the better alignment shop in south (Mileage Mack, Masterserv, Tone, etc.)

2. What's the best wind screen wipers and where can I get them (south).

3. Apparently the person using my van was not using the Amsoil concentrate or cetane boost (even though it was there and not have to be bought). Should I now up the dosage for the next few fill ups or just continue as normal.

1 - all are good, whichever one gives you the best service and straightest alignment is probably the better one for you, lol. Different ppl report different results from all three, so it's just to try them out I guess.

2. MIchelin or RainX wipers, check the same places mentioned above (i dunno much about places in south)

3. Nah man, relax. U can use the regular 2 Oz per fillup, the engine will run fine. The van isn't gonna get "vex" with you and misbehave, lol. I missed a couple fillups myself and my nav hasn't exploded yet, lol.

Congrats on your purchase, that's a really nice truck and a fantastic engine, real iron workhorse there.

For our local climate in this part of the world, most diesel engines will take well to an oil viscosity/body weight of SAE 50 or SAE 40. Eg. 15W40 or 20W50 will work fine in any diesel engine, whether it's direct injection or common rail.

Your QD32 will take well to either of the listed above - it's just a matter of brand preference on what's available on your local market in St. Martin/Maarten.
Generally I tell people to use either a semi-synthetic or a full synthetic, esp. for small countries like ours in the Caribbean where there's a lot of stop/go type driving, which can be hard on the engine. The semi/Full synthetics have a better formulation than mineral oils and will resist breakdown over extended usage periods, and can take all the jammin' we put on our diesels.

Any brand will do generally, again it's down to brand preference. Almost all modern oils are made to surpass worldwide standards, so they're more or less created equal to a certain standard.

Unless you're into diesel racing, then your choice of oil per brand will make a much larger difference, but for an everyday daily driver, Brand X vs. Brand Y vs. Brand Z will not make much of a difference, except in price. The body/weight is much more important.

you can check this thread for your manuals --> viewtopic.php?f=41&t=474773

our local Frontiers do not have a rack, they have steering box. Are you 100% certain?
