http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/adf.aspx

has some of teh Diesel concentrate benefits

it is listed as a injector cleaner and lubricity enhancer

I use 3 oz every fillup so that the quality of my fuel is always enhanced and that teh fuel is always treated

i believe that this will work better as the pump and injectors are constantly treated all month long instead of once for teh month

works as there isn't any smoking from the van

Ooh.. didn't realise ADF had a lubricity enhancer. Never really paid much attention to lubricity enhancers.. we currently don't need them with the high sulphur content fuel we have. But you knew that. lol

The true effectiveness of your method will be shown when you do a pump and injection service.

To be quite honest with you,

I have no intention to do an injection pump service in my DiD engine unless needed

Did injectors this weekend and didn't notice much difference . . . So i am interpreting this as the injectors were not too dirty

As you can tell, the real gain from a diesel injector and pump service is from the cleaning of the pump.

Similarly, in a gasoline vehicle, the target of an injector service is not only the injectors... it targets the buildup on the valves and in the combustion chamber.

For gasoline and diesel, I would estimate the proportion of improvement from the injectors alone to be about 10% to 15%. The rest of the gain is from the other items.

agreed

but i just don't trust anyone locally with servicing a DiD injection pump

maybe except Sookhai's

and at the prices, only if needed

i will trust treatments to keep it from coming to that

Spoke with a garage supervisor at DM South this time, got a different perspective on things.

He recommended the diesel additives, because of the quality of diesel, just to use them in the right amounts as directed by the OEM.

Also, did a scan on the vehicle, no codes so he recommended a calibration be done at the next service but with a cleaned intake manifold and at stock boost/fuel settings.

Finally, EGR blocking was mentioned (non-warranty of course) to reduce the buildup of soot on the intake manifold, which is apparently fairly expensive to clean. Has anyone done so, and if so any problems with it?

Van is working great though, if I can avoid having to block the EGR, I would.

EGR blocking on the Hilux throws a bunch of ECU codes. Not sure if the same happens with the Mitsubishis.
Some guys do a partial block to reduce the EGR flow, but not completely stop it.

A blocked EGR will result in significantly less soot buildup, but at the expense of fuel economy and power.
Alot of guys will say that they have increased power and torque, but that is usually due to the cleaning of the intake manifold that is done with the EGR block.

The 4M41 DiD is also found in several models of the Pajero

Several guys on the Pajero Owners Club (UK) have recommended the EGR to be blocked for the same reasons that Big Z mentioned

I have the stealth blades ~ 1 year now and they working great

Make sure they clipped on properly eh

I removed mine to wash them and thought that it was clipped on properly, even shaked it when I re-installed, only to have it fly off the next day

Price I paid for them . . . I stopped and went and find it on the side of the road

I repaired mine

the switch contacts get dirty and need to be cleaned

most good electricians can service for you

small money to repair, like $200.00

i dont think my problem that easy to fix. its not an electrical issue. the switches want to fall out. actually one is already missing on the drivers side :[

Just thought i'll share a lil word here guys, i have a 2007 Mitsubishi Sportero that was bought from the Diamond Motors, went to the company to buy a kit for the front brakes assembly, as u guessed, no kit which was costing 248 plus vat. Was told i have to wait for two months to get it whilst my brakes were defective. After some extensive checking around, i went by Kawal Singhs Automotive spares in Chaguanas where i was given a Nissan E24 kit, rubbers lined up perfectly and cost only 75 dollars, so if anybody having problems locating one like me, you have an option.
