Slow down??

Driving a 4x4 over 120km/h shoud be the exception rather than the norm.

Maybe the noise has to do with the aerodynamics of the truck - esp. if it appears only at a certain speed. Does your truck have the front bull-bars? Any hood scoop or bug-deflector?

There isn't much you can do for wind noise besides alter the body-shape by attaching something, anything to deflect the wind.

I guess u made a good point.

Probably its the added accessories in front of the vehicle that could be changing the wind dynamics of the vehicle.

All I have on mines is the hood scoop that came with the vehicle and I never heard that noise.

Hi guys I bought a lovely set of HID lights in Thailand high and low beams US 300 for the set. Since the Hilux are all assembeled in Thailand ther is a lot of after market mods sold their you all should visit the Thai web. I ma looking into bringing in 4X4 mods for offroad 4X4 very inexpensive along with Zulex brand of audo equipment. First shipment next year . I am still negotiating a good price wholesale so you all can get it at a resonable cost. Lost of good stuff for all Thailand built 4X4 Mazda,Navara,Colorado,Triton,Ford just to name a few

3.0 Auto 4x4 usually goes for $268K
3.0 Manual 4x4 usually goes for $226K.

I'm guessing these are marked up prices and these toyota sales-days have the more realistic prices for the hiluxes.

Guys I just started having a problem with my 2.5L 4x4 4dr Hilux. The van is 9 months old and doing around 27K km. When starting from a cold engine, after a few minutes of driving the engine suddenly loses power and the engine check light comes on. Once I switch off and restart, it drives normally (restarts effortlessly too). This started last week, and has never happened in a gear higher than 3. Also it doesn't happen on every cold start, I would estimate 3 out of 5 times. No defined time after starting either. Called my sales rep, supposed to be dropping it off TTTL Barataria this week once I can run away from work. I figure is a problem with the fuel system, but the normal starting and driving after have me confused. Has anyone experienced anything similar? The problem is one thing but I would hate to be the first person to suffer this fate. Any input would be appreciated....

Oberon ... have you checked the fuel filter? I would start with that? Where do you full diesel? I would also look at that.

It turns out it was a bad fuel situation. TTTL ran diagnostics and gave me a quote to remove and flush rail and injectors. Haven't done it yet tho. Filled a fresh tank of fuel and no more problems. I had filled at Gypsy in Couva before the problem started. Not going there again nah....Working and living in Pt Lisas that Couva Unipet had my hopes up... but like they closed for good now. Will have to go Gasparillo. PS. badart all parts still original....

Oberon ... you might not need all that flush etc. That Gypsy story sounds all too familiar. If I have to, I full up at NP at St. Mary's traffic light.

Check the fuel filter to see if it needs changing. There might be some 'gunk + impurities + water' in there.

So my sales rep told me that if I go anywhere outside toyota to service that i'll void the warranty but I read somewhere on this forum that if you service using only toyota parts then it shouldn't void the warranty. So which is really true? Toyota prices are wow!
