Postby Duane 3NE 2NR » November 29th, 2024, 1:09 pm

It’s listing by automotive group
Toyota leading.
Stellantis is Dodge, Jeep, Chrysler, RAM, Alfa Romeo, Citroen, Fiat, Peugeot so their numbers are collective.

It was bound to happen. Of all Japanese manufacturers, Nissan is the worst in quality and reliability. Imagine Kia and Hyundai better than Nissan now.

The last two Nissan vehicles I owned stressed me out enough to the point that I will never own another Nissan again.

Nissan needs to improve the quality of their parts, otherwise they will continue to lose marketshare.

Nissan has certainly dropped the ball lately. I know parts are easy to find, but if they aren’t made well they won’t be that useful. It’s hard to see how Nissan is losing ground when it’s brands like Kia and Hyundai that are rising. At the end of day it is all about reliability.

Nissan's suspension/ rust issues and their JATCO CVT has been their downfall for a long time.

Mitsubishi Motors to join Honda-Nissan alliance, Nikkei reports

Jul 28, 2024

Japan's Mitsubishi Motors is set to join an alliance between Honda and Nissan, creating a tie-up between the automakers with combined sales of more than 8 million vehicles, the Nikkei business daily said on Sunday.
Mitsubishi Motors, which is 34% owned by Nissan, will work with Honda and Nissan to finalize the details of their strategic partnership, Nikkei said, adding that the three firms intend to standardize in-vehicle software that controls cars.

Mitsubishi Motors declined to comment on the report, while a Nissan spokesperson would only say that the report was not based on something either of the companies had announced.

Spokespeople for Honda did not respond to a request for comment.

The push comes as Nissan, Japan's third-largest automaker, has been steadily losing market share in its two biggest markets, the United States and China, which together accounted for half of its global sales in the year to March.

On Thursday, the company slashed its annual outlook after heavy discounting in the U.S. almost completely wiped out its first-quarter profit.

Nissan and Honda said in March that they were considering a strategic partnership to collaborate on producing electric vehicle (EV) components and artificial intelligence in automotive software platforms.

Mitsubishi Motors is already part of a long-standing alliance with Nissan and France's Renault that the three automakers last year agreed to restructure, aiming for a downsized but more pragmatic and agile partnership.

Separate collaboration efforts between Nissan, Honda and Mitsubishi Motors could help Japan's automakers cut costs and beef up to battle an increasingly competitive EV market dominated by companies like China's BYD and Tesla.

In China, the world's largest auto market, Japanese brands were previously strong but are now up against domestic automakers that have rapidly increased production and won over consumers with low-priced vehicles loaded with software.

Fixed.

Consumers in most major markets want smart devices with wheels, market-driven decisions will relegate many traditional brands to third-world markets

Hyundai / Kia have amazing tech and warranty coverage which pulled in a lot of buyers and allowed Hyundai more hands and eyes for engineers to figure out what fails on their cars and delete the failure in the next generation.

Toyota is top class as well.

I live In USA and will stay away from Nissan and BMW and Audi and VW and Subaru. These cars don’t like being driven without warming up especially in cold months. Side effects of this start and go culture in America is CVTs that don’t like driving around. Head gaskets that blow. And bad rod bearings. Blown turbos. Plus Using super thin oils in summer months based on what manufacturers recommend for best mpg and emissions doesn’t help either
You save on one side but lose out on the other.

Resale value on the older 2010 and up Hyundai / Kia is better than the japs and German cars of the same age cause they ran on old Mitsubishi tech.

lol new Mitsubishi cars that started to on run Nissan tech suffer from tranny failure. But in between in the same model years they have cars with the Porsche transmission that sell for less but out last the new cvt
